Hi all,
thank you to whoever here introduced me to this:
http://www.starchfreerecipes.com/about-starch-free-recipes/
Really good recipes, especially for anyone feeling deprived or stuck when considering Low/No Starch.
Jan

Great link, Jan! I particularly like it because I have a dairy-free daughter, so there are some ideas there that suit both of us.

Hey - I see from your avatar that you've *filled out* a bit lately! Is it all those yummy starch-free recipes??? <LOL>

Thank you for posting this! I've lost a ridiculous amount of weight being on the NSD/LSD diet, so it's always great to get more ideas!

Hi Jan,

I wondered about the squash too, so I iodined it and it was still fine 5 minutes after I had grated and tested it!

Anyway, I made the donut holes - but balked at the 1-2 TABLESPOONS of nutmeg, so used a heaped teaspoon of both cinnamon and nutmeg instead...

The taste was quite strong when I first made them, and I wasn't too sure about it, but a day later, they are good, but not my favourite.

It's got me thinking though, because I love dates any which way. I thought a little honey and a little less spice could be good...also adding orange rind, dried apricots, a little walnut crumb etc etc...all very Middle Eastern flavours, a bit like my Persian Hotdogs.

So....watch this space for some experimentation and reporting of results.

I really like the idea/texture of the ground nut/coconut and the fruity sweet dates. Change the nuts, maybe toast them first if I stay with the almonds - add a little rum at Christmas time - endless ideas, really! Hey how about some Dutch cocoa powder - I can feel a NSD rum ball attack coming on - the ONLY sort of attack I want, thanks very much!

Hello Everyone. It has been a while since posting on this site. Just finished reading Sinclaire's IBS Low Starch Diet book. Great is all I can say. I have stage four AS and already began my new eating lifestyle. Love to know others' thoughts and input. Years ago ate the low carb way for years and was full of energy. Hopefully this will be even better, especially addressing AS and chronic inflammation. Looking forward to hearing from all regarding impact of the diet, results both negative and positive, and any/all useful hints. Thank you. TitaniumGirl

Hi TitaniumGirl! Welcome back

Glad to hear you're giving the diet a go. Hopefully it will work for you and you will get the results you wish for.

Feel free to ask any questions etc.. that's what we're here for.

All the best
Chelsea
