It turns out he's had two sleeping pneumonia infections this whole time - they've gone septic and embedded in his blood cells, apparently. This could cause a ton of his symptoms. M. Pneumonia and C. Pneumonia. And he's severely Vit. D deficient, his thyroid is enlarged and his E-Os are elevated, whatever those are (something to do with allergies, but he hasn't had allergies lately . . . doc is investigating other causes of this, may be autoimmune).

So she gave him a MONTH of Doxycycline, 100mg twice a day, and Vit. D, and acidophilus probiotics.

FINALLY a test came back positive for SOMETHING! The more I think about it, the more this makes sense. I'm so relieved. This is doctor #12. Oh, and by the way? She's not even a doctor, she's a nurse-practitioner. And she's busting her butt for us, and she's more creative than the doctors . . . I'm impressed with her. Some of my best doctors have been nurse-practitioners.

,
a very relieved wife,
Bridget

Phew, Bridget! What a relief to finally be getting some answers and some treatment for Cody. I'm so glad you are finally getting somewhere on this.

By the way, the E-Os are eosinophils, a type of white blood cell.

Low thyroid levels and low vitamin D levels both make a person more susceptible to infection.

I hope he starts to get better.

Somehow this is not surprising (the fact that it is some sort of "hidden" or "silent" infection). It really sounds like you are making progress and are on the right track. It may be worth checking out The Road Back web page and forum. Good luck!

Bridge

Glad to hear you FINALLY got some news about Cody, at least it's a step in the right direction! (About time) Hope your feeling better too.

After working at the hospital for many years, I've worked with many Dr.'s and Nurse Practitioners. I must say the is one N.P. in particular I would rather see than any Dr. and she was able to diagnose things the Doctors would miss!!

Hope things continue to stay on this track and stay positive!! Now lets get you better too!! Give Miss Bailey a hug, take care.

Hey Bridge,
I know that you and Cody have to feel a lot better knowing that there is something to fight now. It sounds like this can be treated though and he;ll be fine.

This is great news!!

Doctor #12! That is just outrageous! Thank goodness that you did not give up! A lesson to us all.

Hope he will feel better soon, VERY SOON!
