Interesting after having AS and being HLA-B27 Positive all my life I know nothing about
CRP or ESR or any of that. One trip to a Rheumatholigist that told me the disease was not cureable, and all he could do was give me medication for. pain. I guess back then doctors were not pushing meds like they are today, so that they can get their kickbacks.
Thank God I am totaly fused straight and get up every morning pain free. My body was never introduced to any of these new designer drugs. But no smoking, or drinking. Lots of exercise. All of the mash potatoes and starches I wanted and at 76 I look great.

Hope all of you that are suffering with the progression of this disease will get some releif.

God bless

HLA-B27-

CRP = 21
SED = 42

My SED rate is always higher when I'm on a flair. Lower when the medication is working. 4 years ago SED = 123.
AS is always active.

B27+
RH-
I am an 'indicator;' my ESR has been >100 was 40-50 for years. CRP elevated at same time.

After NSD and antibiotics ESR decreased to 26, then 19, and by now it is 9. No more iritis, TMJ, costochondritis, periostitis, bursitis, knee edema, or ongoing osteoporosis. Plenty of damage due to years of dietary ignorance, however.

HLA B27 neg
CRP 95
ESR 72

My CRP and ESR levels do seem to correlate to pain levels. I now have a positive diagnosis for RA.
