If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Oh, it really looks yucky today, there's not a solid blue background behind the contusions... I know I can make the trip Thursday but I'm worried about starting the Enbrel & MTX, I keep thinking that it may not be wise to drop my immune system while my body's trying to heal, I'm not really sure how that works, I know if you develop a fever, sore throat or the flu youhave to stop using Enbrel but I don't know if that applies to injuries...

hang in there. I do think there are stories of slower healing while on the TNF drugs. I would call the rheumy office before taking it. I guess the MTX is for the PSA and not the AS?
No families take so little medicine as those of doctors, except those of apothecaries.

Oh my god, Michelle! I was honestly terrified just reading your post--I can't imagine having lived through that experience! Thank god you are, in the big picture of things, ok after such a terrible fall. I just shudder thinking about how much worse it could have been, and how lucky you actually are (hard to imagine with that giant hematoma jussting out of your back, I know, but wow....lucky you definitely are!). I pray that the oxy they gave you is strong enough to scale the pain back, and that the muscle relaxant is the best there is, because I have a bad feeling that the next couple days are going to be pretty dang rough (I only pray that I am wrong about that).
Please, please take it easy the next few days and force your family to take care of you! If they give you any sass, tell them there is an army of KA members mobilizing around North America ready to head down to Bayou Country and kick some serious AS at a moment's notice! That should get their attention!
Feel better, and get lots and lots of rest.
Brad

Brad - love that image of an army of KickASers mobilizing. Yeah... count me in on that one. When I need help, I know you'd all head up here to Canada.

Well I can tell you that I am not to start back on the Enbrel for awhile after the surgery.. I saw the Surgeon Monday and he said that the wound is healed enough to start but would like me to hold off as long as I can.. It will slow down the healing of the repair of tendon and bones he messed with, Not really worried about infection but more so the healing process in an area that heals slowly anyway.. So I would say wait a week.. but your Doc should be able to tell you best..Good Luck!!
Peace, Tamara

Hey! Are you better today?? I'm thinking no more oxy, huh? Trudi's advice is good, also eat a bunch of fresh pineapple, it is miraculous at healing bruises (in that they feel better, too). Don't forget how tired you'll be. Is it hematomaing??

Hi Steve...I'm not sure if the MTX is for the PSA or if it's being used as a booster for the Enbrel, I've read articles about the increased efficacy of the biologics when used in conjuction with MTX, I'm going to ask at my appt. though...

I agree my rheumey was thinking about adding MTX to my Enbrel to boost..before we decided on the surgery. I don't know if we will move forward with that after this is all done.. please let us know what the Doc says Michelle..
Peace, Tamara
