If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi, I know it's been a while since I've been on site but I am having no more AS symptoms. I'm back because I feel it's important to share my story. I started on the nsd and began noticing something different but I was also feeling more and more pain. I went to the doc and he tested my sed rate which turned out to be totaly normal. He tested me for fibro and was diagnosed with it. I didn't believe it until I started realizing that I wasn't having anymore back or joint pain but I was feeling like someone used me as a punching bag. I could barely walk because I had so much pain in my inner thighs and buttock. I have had these same pains for years thinking they were AS symptoms but they got worse after going on the nsd. The reason that I wanted to tell my story is that when I went on the nsd I began consuming a lot of fatty meats like bacon, hamburger patties and steak and fewer fruits and veggies. This diet is terrible for fibro, it causes much more pain and if you don't know you have fibro you may think that your AS is worstening, I did. Sugar is also terrible for fibro. I'm concerned that many of the people who have tried the Nsd and felt that they got worse or weren't getting better may also have fibro, especially since it's been found that fibro is actualy more common amungst people with AS and RA. I am now doing much better. I have my fibro and AS under very good control (no meds) through a healthy diet and specific suppliments. I still have residual pain from hip and some lower spine damage but I am now living a normal, functional and active life. I am actually looking forward to the future rather than dreading it thanks to the nsd.

I too would like to know what fibro is. What diet and supplements and amounts are you taking. Congrats that you were diagnosed properly and that you are feeling better. Laurie

I have had more pain since i went on the nsd but my doctor told me it was because i was being a wimp and not excersizing (my words not his ) which he is right if i excersize each day i feel great and the pain clears up even more. I am interested to know what fibro is though?? Cheers Elizabeth

I think that there is a chance that you could have "fibromialgia", according to your symptoms. There is a test that the doc can do but it isn't always acurate. You should check out some web sites on it to see what all the symptoms are. I just ordered products from Dr Murphree from the site below, I'm hopefull that they will be very effective. Some good one are-www.drmurphreestore.com ,www.raysehelin.com
Good luck

Thanks laurie, go on those sites. Fibromialgia can be very serious, it doesn't actually do physical damage to your body like AS but the pain and effect on your life can be just as devestating.

Elizabeth, exercize is great for Fibromialgia and AS, it does help a lot. Check out those sites.
What kinds of foods are you eating? Animal fat, red meats, dairy and sugar I know are really bad, notice if you feel more pain after eating these things. I try to eat about 80% fruits and veggies. Take a couple of tblspns of flax oil a day. I drink a frozen berry smoothy every morning with vitamineral greens, nutritional yeast, whey protien, tart cherry juice concentrate and flax oil, I add water instead of juice in order to keep the sugar content down and I sweeten it with liquid stevia. This is highly nutrishous food that is good for your brain and high in antioxidants. I am still experimenting with the suppliments the above sites have good suggestions.
Good luck

I eat mostly vegies and fruit with mostly white meats like chicken and fish, i do still have some starch vegies though as i am finding it hard to get enough vegies that are starch free, carrot is mainly the only one that i'm naughty with though.

How long have you been on the nsd? You definately shouldn't be feeling worse from the nsd.
