I know you have not heard that my son Philip will be leaving in Jan to go to school with the Army. He will be in school for 5 weeks to get his GED. They will pay him while he does this. And then after he passes his GED he will move on over to bootcamp. I know that for school he will be at Fort Jackson. I think it is in SC. They can't tell me yet where he will do his bootcamp at I am hoping I will know next week when he does some more test and they do his Physic. He is very happy and can't wait to get going.

Kat on the other hand is very upset because he is leaving. They fight but when it comes down to it they would do any thing for each other. On Christmast Eve Philip and Kat are going to be bapitze in a special Christmast eve service. Found that out Sunday.

And not to make matter a bit different this year for Christmas Big Phil can't get off work to go to TNN for Christmas. He tired but they will not let him off. That is when my whole family gets together for Christmas. You know Mom, Pop, and sister's and all their kids. This will be the first one he has miss the whole time we have been married. And it is the last one we will have with Philip before things change.

So when thing change around here they really change. I am not sure if I am ready for all this but I guess I have to. I am hope to do a lunch or a special dinner with Philip and some of he freiends before he leave in Jan.

Just pray for him. This is what he wants just pray that GOD keeps him safe for us.

And most important Thank you Philip for doing this for us all. So that we can all keep the freedoms we all love. You are one brave young man and you will be in good company.

I love ya mom

Oh Mom,

I don't see how you can do it, YOU and all the other parents out there fighting for our country are Heros.

I will keep him and your whole family in my thoughts and prayers during this stressful time.

Hugs,

Lisa

Donna, I know how hard this is for you. Your son is very brave and I know he is doing what he feels is the right thing. That's all that matters, as much as I know you will miss him while he's away.

Please know that you and he, and your whole family are in my thoughts.

Warm hugs,

Kat

Donna, you absolutely should be proud of that terrific young man as he takes this next (and huge!) step in his life. It sounds like you and Big Phil (so funny--I have good friends where the dad is Big Phil and the son is Little Phil!) have done a wonderful job of raising him and instilling in him the values and faith he will need to see him safely through his tour of duty. My thoughts and prayers will absolutely be with him while he is serving our country. I want to offer my sincere thanks to you and your husband and, most of all, to your son for having the courage and strength of character it takes to join all the other brave men and women who represent and defend our country. Every citizen of this nation owes our soldiers a debt of gratitudel
