Hi Molly, yes, Katrina was really something, honestly, I don't ever want to go thru something like that again! This is a cake-walk compared to that!! I was very productive today and it felt great! I was going to go back to bed this morning but I started netting leaves out of the pool, I got 10 hours of much needed sleep last night and I found my Tramadol and Flexeril yesterday and have been doubling up on them (my doc said it was okay) and I'm feeling a little better...anyway I wound up picking up a lot of trash out of the yard and I've started hosing everything down and I've even put on some ribs on....

Thanks Orch, that means a lot to me. The reject dogs are usually a blast! They're usually really goofy and playful, which is always a lot of fun. There are going to be tons of dogs needing homes after these hurricanes and some will be puppies I'm sure, if you really want one, check with your local rescue group, you can specify what breed you would like too.

Ribs! Sounds great! My fiance is from Memphis, and we live in Seattle. He tells me I have never had actual barbecue, and I think I believe him. Apparently, when Seattlelites talk about having "barbecues" we're just talking about grilling! I'll have to head South one day to try it.

Glad you found your meds - it's good to feel better, I'm sure!

hi molly,

i lived in richmond virginia for a while, and early on, i said i was going to have a barbeque (and i meant a picnic with grilling) and was informed, quite seriously, that BarBQ meant pulled pork...of course those from other BarBQ states would even argue with that definition.

but i will tell ya, even the best BarBQ food up here is no comparison to even average in Virginia....Pulled Pork and Hushpuppies, that's what i remember...and i can't believe none of the BarBQ places up here serve hushpuppies....they brag about being "authentic" and think they're doing well for having fried green tomatoes, but no hushpuppies! that's heresy.....ok, now i know i'm gonna hear it from other BarBQ capitols about what constitutes "proper BarBQ"

Here's a good alligator story, Mr. Saucier(pronounced Sew-Shay) found a twelve foot alligator on his carport and they took it's picture. Sulphur is just above Hackberry on the map.

Oh my GOD! The worst we have around here is raccoons and opossums! The raccoons can get pretty feisty, but they don't get QUITE that big! Yeesh!
