If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I recently started back on the nsd and I need to get on some pro-biotics but I'm concerned about starch being in them. I started some sauer kraut today but it won't be ready for a few weeks. I also don't tolerate dairy so yogurt and kefir won't do. I would like to start getting some pro-b's right away. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hiya,
One safe brand is Natren Healthy Trinity, also called Natren Trenev Trio. The probiotics are suspended in oil in a capsule. No starch. Expensive tho.

Healthy Trinity is the number one recommended here. You can start eating the sauerkraut in as few as 3 days. Just spoon enough out to fill a small jar, and pack the remainder down tightly to continue fermenting. You can do as needed, every few days as you run out. Start your next batch as soon as this one is ready to your satisfaction, so you don't run out. http://myankylosingspondylitis.blogspot.com/2008/04/lacto-fermented-sauerkraut.html

Hi Toni,
I will put in another plug for Natrens Healthy Trinity. This probiotic worked very well for me. However, if in a flare, all priotics seemed only to make matters worse for me... had to wait until things settled down and then start them up.

Hi Toni,
I am not sure... but overall I did well with Natrens and attribute much of my improvement over past couple years to probiotics. But I do know from my bodies reactions, if I went into a flare I had to discontinue probiotics at times for couple weeks to month and then restart afterwards. The yogurt with probiotics (SToneyfield Farms) also seemed more of an issue than Natrens.
The last time this was issue was March 2006... I recall this well because I went to NCAA hockey tournament games and I recall having back pain watching games in stands. The flare started by trying a different probiotic yogurt drink and I had to stop all probiotics for 2-3 as a result until system "normalized" I guess.

That's interesting Tim.
My kraut has been ready now for a couple of days and I have been eating it a lot and I love it. I seems like I feel better when I eat it.
I have been doing the nsd now for about two weeks and I am feeling better except I have a relentless case of iritis. It doesn't seem to want to get better. The doc is concerned that I could have too much presure in it as a result of too much pred-forte.
