Hi Josh,

I lived in Wisconsin for many, many years before moving around states and then to Argentina. Glad you found this site and I hope you find it useful and can learn and receive some support.

Take care,

Tim

Hello, I am new too! I have been anxiously awaiting for my approval to use this site...
I am a 43 yr old f, dx'd 2 years ago w/AS. So far I am HLB-27 negative and it is causing problems with my new MD; in that he thinks he needs to find a new diagnosis for me since (his words) "90% of people with AS are HLB-27 positive!" He also seems dependent on my sed rates, which don't always show what is really going on with me. I am also really happy to find this site...I stumbled upon it a couple of hours ago while googling sacroiliitis...I am thrilled to have found a place of support and rapport!
So welcome Josh...you are my first new friend here!

Hey, I forgot: can anyone tell me how I can put my own pic on my profile? I can't figure out how to do it with the radio button/asking for URL site...I only know how to copy and paste!

Hi Jennifer... I have just sent you a private message to answer your pic question. Just look for the little flashing envelope near to the top left corner of your screen.

Welcome to KA!

Nice to meet you Jenn. Interesting situation with your Dr. Evidently he doesn't believe that you could be that 10% exception. It seems like everyone on here has had some kind of doctor frustration. Are you currently taking any medications? This is still all very new to me and I'm trying to weigh all of the options. Glad to meet you!

Very glad to hear of your Remicade success Brad. I'm really looking forward to it.
FYI - I have Michigan wallpaper with a Go Blue border in my bedroom at my parents house back home!

Welcome to Kickas, I hope you will stay around and get to know everyone. There are quite a few young members here that you will find conforting to talk to them and have much in common. Then there are the "older" group, like me, that may be able to help from experiences. There is a wealth of information and support hear.

Hi Josh - I am new also. Welcome - I also am trying the NSD from threads I have read here and because of the medical info. This are my favorite pages and refer to it often. https://www.kickas.org/medical/14.shtml. http://www.alive.com/2633a9a2.php?subject_bread_cramb=543 It gives me hope that I am somewhat in control by the actions I take. I laugh (I really do) when I tell my coworkers about this disease and tell them if I want to stay well I need to eat healthy and exercise - you gotta see the humor in that when we really should be doing that anyway I never really paid attention to my diet before but you can bet I'm paying attention now. The most important thing is to make sure you get a bottle of iodine (the brown kind) from the pharmacy and test your foods. If it comes up black it has starch. Things I'm thinking don't have any starch are showing up starch. I'm waiting on my Carol Sinclair book IBS no starch diet and that should help. Best wishes to you...Sue!
