| If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Ok the starch list says that Cottage Cheese has no starch, but I can't find any that doesn't have either Modified food starch in it or Maltodextrin in it. Does anyone know of a brand that doesn't have either of these in it?

I don't know where you live, but are there any dairy farms around you that might make and sell their own?
Kind Regards,
Jay

Curt,I know that I've able to find cottage cheese without added starch, though I haven't bought it in a while. I think it was Dean's, but can't remember for sure. Keep reading labels and you'll find a starch-free one.

I live near allot of dairies but none that make any of there own products. I did find a couple of brands that don't have added starch, one is Nancy's the other I can't remember the name of right now. Anyway thanks for the suggestions, I'm still blown away at what they will stuff starch into, never paid much attention before but it is truly staggering to read all the labels. Whats really interesting is the cheaper the brand the more starch is in it. I think practically everything Western Family makes they pack full of starch.

whats worse is that they will sometimes not even put it on the label - but you will test the food and it will show up..!

my local health food store carries several brands of organic cottage cheese. since Horizon was taken over by a big chain (forget which one) I suspect they are more likely to have added starches, but there is one brand,Natural by Nature--the cows are grassfed, the milk is ultrapasteurized, and if you have any uncertainty, you can email them and ask.
having said that, I avoid dairy because it increases my IBS symptoms and is fairly high in sugars (lactose).

You can make your own low lactose version - if you make your own yoghurt and ferment it for 24hrs it will contain much less lactose, and then you can take some farmer cheese which also is supposed to contain little lactose and whip the two together until you get something with the consistency of cottage cheese... Add some salt to taste.

You might have to go to a health food store or Whole Foods or Wild Oats, and look for an organic brand.
