If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

AS has taken away my bodies ability to balance bacteria in my body and I want it back. I hate this chronic fungus way more then I hate AS. My AS problems have been mostly solved through NSD. The fungus is now a #*&%! for me.

Sue, I hear you about the travel thing. My hubby and I want to travel the world. I hate that I have to be in pain whenever I go somewhere, which makes traveling horrible. Nothing worse than being in a lot of pain in a foreign place.

hi alysen,
i want to go to switzerland next summer for a conference. i haven't been to europe but once when i was a teen. i just don't know. what if i overrotate my SI? when i do it at home, i can't even go to the bathroom without my husbands help. how will i ice it? what if its a day when i'm supposed to travel? what if.... i mostly hate that i've become the kind of person that even thinks of such scenarios. i was never the kind of person to be apprehensive about trying new things. i'm torn between just going for it, and being more practical and accepting my limits. my husband will support my decision either way but thinks i should not chance it. he says there are a lot of people that can't do such things for other reasons like money. not being able to go to another country is not such a hardship. i agree with him. maybe its not so much the not traveling as what that represents.

mig,
i'm so sorry.
though i never had children, it was something that just kind of never happened. it was kind of by default. not really a conscience decision on our parts. i think it was partly because we were both having health issues and were so busy taking care of ourselves and one another, but i never felt i was missing out on anything. but i know that is not typical. i know how hard it is for people that really want children and can't; some adopt, but i know that's not really the same for some.

Lisa, this is a very good question. Thank you for thinking to ask it.
We all have so many fears when it comes to this; fear for the future, fear for today, fear that we will let people down who depend on us. It doesn't seem to matter what kind of arthritis a person has, the list of problems caused by living with arthritis always seems to include many of the same issues.
AS took so much from me when I was younger; things that I didn't even know about until I started Remicade. I've accomplished some pretty nifty stuff in my life (when I actually let myself think about it that way), but the energy I've had and the progress forward I've made since starting on Remicade has made me recognize just how much more I might have accomplished had I not had AS and the resultant lack of energy.
I think what upsets me the most is the peace of mind that was taken from me as a teen and young adult. I was depressed alot of the time starting as a pre-teen, felt marginalized from my peers all of the time starting as a child. No young person should ever feel that way (well, no person should, but you know what I mean).
The way I see it now, I know there's no point getting upset about it. That's water under the bridge and there's nothing I can do now. But sometimes, I can't help but wonder. You know?
Many hugs,
Kat
