I've have been getting quite a bit of eye ulcers lately in the left eye. Anyone else get these goofy things? Are they related to AS?

i'm not sure exactly what you mean by "eye ulcers" but if you mean uveitis, then yes, that is a common symptom of the spondyloarthropathies, including AS.

Sue,
My Eye Dr. calls them ulcers of the eye. I notice the light will bother me, and then I'll see a little white cloud appear in the color portion of my eye. Does this sound familiar?

i don't have eye problems and hopefully never will but a lot of folks here do have ey problems. post this question on the #1 AS Web Support Group forum, that's where most of the traffic is. someone will see the question there faster and i think you'll get more knowledgeable responses.

i wish i could help more, but fortunately, my eyes have been ok thus far.

I'm curious about this too. I have an ulcer under my eyelid (not a sty). I noticed it about a year ago. The opth. gave me antibiotic ointment to put on it last April. It got smaller, but I can still see a tiny freckle of it if I pull my eyelid out and look. The opth also said to wash my eye out with baby shampoo. I kid you not -- and it doesn't hurt, it just seems odd.
Anyhow, if you find out that it is related, please post. Thanks!

I did have a sty on my upper eye lid show up. Actually there was two of them in my left eye along with the goofy white cloud (ulcer). They lanced one of them. Recommended that I apply warm compresses and keep the eye clean. No make up. And do the drops for the ulcer. This all started in Oct. 2006. The ulcers have returned every month or two usually along with a UTI. The ulcers have moved around my eye kind of clock work. I haven't had anymore stys.
