Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your words of encouragement. John was in surgery for 7 1/2 hours. He is doing well. He is in ICU - I saw him this evening but they are keeping him sedated until they take the breathing tube out (tomorrow morning?). I'm afraid to tell all of you that I was told they are worried about his neck - when they took the X-Rays on Friday the neck portion was blurry but the doctor thinks he saw something - he's afraid it also might be fractured - guess we'll find out in the next few days.

I will be going to hospital first thing in the morning and will post when I get home tomorrow night to update - not sure what time that will be!

Again, thanks and I'll show John your messages.

Maggie - I assume he'll be there at least a week but I'm not sure at this point.

Joanne,

Awwww thanks so much for the update, sending you sweet gentle hugs. It sound slike John had quite a long drawn out ordeal today, but I hope he is awake enough tomorrow to communicate with you some. I would say from the sound of things he may be there 7 to 9 days unless he recovers quicker than one would think.

I'm hoping the blurred image was just a blurred image and not something they need to try to correct, but only time will tell. I wish there was more I could do to help besides sending emails, but I am keeping both you and John in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope you are able to rest and get some sleep in between your trips to the hospital. If not please let the doctor know and he will probably give you something to help you rest and sleep for a few days so you don't burn your self out running back and forth and worrying.

Hang in there & get some rest while John is sedated! I know it's difficult, but you've all got a long-haul ahead!
Still praying for good results & speedy recovery!

Joanne, what a relief to know John is safely through surgery and in ICU - thank you for posting. It was a long day just waiting to hear, I can only imagine how exhausting it must have been for you. Please let John know I've been keeping him in my thoughts.

God I hope and pray his neck was not fractured.

Thank goodness he has you Joanne, you are an angel.
Warmest hugs for you both!

Joanne, I had my remicade yesterday and was out of contact. Please let John know my thoughts and prayers are with him. I fervently hope that the blurry x-ray was nothing more than a blurry x-ray. Please give John a very gentle hug for me (and yourself too, I know how much you will worry).

Many hugs,

Kat
