Hi, this is the first time I've been on this site and I am very pleased with what I have seen so far. It's great to find others who undersand what I have been going through.
This has been an up-hill battle trying kick as. My latest venture has been a vegitarian diet(mostly vegan). I've had little relief. I'm now very interested in this NSD. Can someone give me the name of the book?
Thanks so much,
Toni

Hi Toni,

Welcome to KickAS. If you click on the main index and scroll down to Treatments, Drugs and Alternatives you will see NSD and Diet Related Forum where you will find a lot of info and discussions on NSD. Hope you can find the info you need there. There is also a Diet Centre on the left column of the main page with more diet and food info.

Brent

Welcome Toni - you have found a great place with great people. I just found KA about 5 months ago - I have had AS for 38 years - started NSD/LSD and found relief 3 days later. Not everyone gets that kind of results

If I can help - PM me.

Brian

Hey Toni...I'm relatively new to the site also, you'll find the other members are awesome!!! I found the same instant comfort of not being "alone" as you have. Everyone is so knowledgable and I find that they aren't ambiguous in the sharing of knowledge, so I don't have to worry about getting info that hasn't been thoroughly subsatantiated. I also am about to embark on an LSD journey!!!

Hi Toni and welcome to Kickas.

There is a wealth of information here in form of the members, so much to be learned. I wandered here 5 1/2 yrs ago looking for answers and learned of the diet as well and made the change in my life to No Starch.

Hope you can take something away from this site to help you in your battle with AS and in the mean time have a laugh or two. The group here is very supportive.

Keep coming back

Tim

AS may win some battles, but I will win the war.

Hi toni - welcome to kickas. The information on the NSD forum is amazing and will hopefully relieve you of your pain, as it has for many of us.

When I realized I was inflamed, before even being diagnosed, I tried the Vegan Diet too. It put me in so much pain, eating all those starches, I was nearly suicidal, but that was what finally drove me to my medical doctor for pain killers and sleeping pills, and he made me to the xrays and blood work and sent me to a rheumy who diagnosed me right away, so it was all part of finally ending up here.

The No Starch Diet works when you finally work out all the hidden starches, and get 100% starch free. It did not take too long for me, some take longer. Once I got all the starches out of my system, basicly only about 3 or 4 days, I was no longer needing my meds, but it took me about 10 days before I was brave enough to give them up. That was over a year ago.

I have since had to give up sugars as well. So I basicly down to a paleo diet, mostly meats, eggs, veggies and coconut oil and butter. Coconut oil is amazing and you should look into starting to eat it and use it for cooking (and as a skin moisturizer). I try to eat for nutrition now so I can avoid expensive supplements, but I do have to take probiotics daily.

Can't wait to hear about your amazing transformation after going NSD.
