I am unable to tolerate beer... thought I would miss it more than I have.

Hi Reen, hope NSD progress is still good for you! Just wanted to add some comments, which you may find interesting. When I talked about this "finetuning", I did not only mean starch, but in particular all those other individual problemfoods. As I see it, starch is the BIG mountain, which one has to pass before being able to see the small problem hills behind it. Without eliminating starch, the body is in such a mess, that everything will upset it.
Secondly, I have had a HUGE personal revelation of my own recently: I have been critically low in zinc for a long time, probably being the main cause of me being quite miserable the last half year and contributing to my iritis flare in july. Possibly, this is more linked with my Chrohn problems, but maybe also relevant for AS. Anyway, both supplements of vitamine D and B6 will lower zinc in the body. This is according to litterature, but fits VERY well with my recent personal experience. For example, this summer I was not feeling at all well from sunlight (as compared with last year) and cod liver oil supplement in September caused severe cold/flu like symtoms. I do believe cod liver oil is very good, but the zinc aspect should be taken into account. Also, myself I react badly to the lemon flavour in some brands!
My best wishes
Andreas
