If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Everyone, I have been on Enbrel for a year now. got a call from Dr. need to see me regarding blood in urine from tests done last week. Has anyone had a kidney infection or similar since being on the Enbrel or other biologics. Never had any issues like this in the past. Have to wait a week to see dr. should i stop my shots in case it's an infection??????? anyone else been through this? My bloodwork is normal thanks guys Lisa

shari, aloha seeing blood where it isn't supposed to be can be disquieting. there are many possible reasons. i'm sure he'd have told you to suspend the shots if that was his intention. this doctor is the prescribing doctor ? or KNOWS you are on enbrel ? if you don't have confidence, then wait till after the appointment...so you know. good luck aB

Hi Lisa, I have to second what Ben said. And I also have to re-ask what Ben queried - Your doc knows you're on enbrel? He didn't instruct you to hold shots for a week until he could investigate this further? I say get in touch with your doc. When you're on an immune suppressing drug, it's probably better to be on the safe side. And I have had a bladder infection while on enbrel. I just skipped a shot until I finished antibiotics. No biggie. Let us know how it goes. Hopefully it's nothing.

it was strange i was just in for routine tests as part of physical. i get a message from my Rhuemy to get in touch with my gp to follow up regarding my lab results. then she faxes infor to my Gp and so when i called i spoke with the secretary that told me that the rhuemy faxed over infor regarding blood cells or blood, with the urine tests, she wasn't sure. she then made me an appt. to see gp next friday. told me she would give the dr. the fax and if anything pressing they would push up the appt. this was yesterday afternoon. they have not called back. if it is a kidney infec. (no symptoms of anything) , why not tell me to stop shots. i am thinking of skipping them until i know for sure....would you guys? have you guys heard of anyone getting kidney infections from enbrel? thanks lisa ps by the way Megan are you still on humira ....is it helping yet???? thanks Ben for you always logical advice

Hi Lisa,
I have the same problem and have had it for some years now. I have routine urinalysis done for my Humira and each time I have blood and wbc in my urine. I do not have symptoms and between my rhuemy and myself have decided not to worry about it. I continue with the Humira, though I believe it started before I started before the Humira. I suppose as well it depends on how much blood you have ? So that is my experience, I sometimes worry about it but there has never been a problem so far. Hope you get to the bottom of it and keep us posted on what happens. I will be interested to hear.

I have had blood in my urine for 3 years now. I have had ultra sound (right kidney enlarged) and cystoscopy this year (showing nothing). Consensus between urologist and rheumaologist.....Inflammation in kidney from Lupus. I don't have a clue but I don't like it but I am not ready for them to biopsy it because of risk of infection and bleeding. The amount of blood has not changed in 3 years. It is just still there. Hope you get some answers. Blessings. Possi

Hi guys, an update. i did not even see my gp, she said i have had it before, looks like it was just my rheumy's office over reacting. they sent me for another test 3 weeks ago and have not been called back so, guess not related to the Enbrel. thanks again, Lisa
