Hi Bridget,
I'm glad to hear Carbon is going to be ok. A little limp...but ok.
I love my pets just like kids. Right now I have 3 dogs,a pug and 2 chihuahua's and one cat and one hermit crab and 4 kids. I used to have 4 cats but I had to give one away cause she didn't like my other animals and kids. One crawled out a screen door and we never saw it again and one we had to put down.
I dearly miss the cat we had to put down. He was deathly ill though. I took the kids with me to the Emergency vet...no way they would let me go without them, so of course I have these 4 crying little faces, I had to try and save him.
This cat was also about the only thing that seemed to like my daughter #2 so what can I say. They were very close and it was hard. They tried to save the cat but he was suffering so bad and his kidneys shut down so I got a call late at night and I had to let him go. (I'm crying) So in the morning I had to break the news....I went down to my daughters bedroom and I had to tell her our beloved Patches has gone to kitty heaven. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. My daughter and the rest of the kids were devastated. (I can't believe this still makes me cry)
This short vet visit cost me $1600.00 when I knew deep down he couldn't be saved.
Bridget, I met a guy a few months ago that I adore. He lives in a little town and when we were driving on the highway last week he was talking about having an acerage. He wants to have horses and I think it would be wonderful so I am hoping everything works out for us. My kids love animals also and would love horses etc. I have always wanted a pot belly pig and I think some chickens and ducks and goats and a big dog would be great.

What can I say? I grew up in Philly-we didn't have a lot of space for pets. we did have rabbits growing up but I was so young! then we inherited a dog cos friends moved to sweden & didn't want him to go thru quarantine~he was too old for that. Anywho,Jez is my first real pet,love her! Did I say I was an adult? Naaaaa...I am still a kid trapped in a thirty-something body!!

Bridget - I surely do luv you gal. That is priceless - lame duck, goose, mule: heigh, you is truly *awesome*. Lucky Carbon, great name for one hellova kitty - Carbon 'cause he's black? I once had a rescue, six toes, called her 'Bette Noir' - she was a terror. This present rehomed one is named 'Miaouzelle' cause she screams blue murder for her own way, which is 'cuddle me' and 'feed me'! Dang 'ghastly cat'  (Can sound like to a strangulated sheep!) Hope Carbon continues to improve - cuddles to him. Molly
