If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with Leucovorin? My doc has prescribed it for me to help with the side effects of mtx. Thanks, Wanda

I take leucovorin every week with my MTX. It's been a life saver from the side effects. Even with the folic acid I was still getting sooo sick from the MTX. This stuff made all the stomach aches go away and even stopped my hair from thinning and falling out. It works great. good luck!

Thanks Jilly, I wonder why more people don't take it. Knowing the side effects of mtx, I'm just wondering if there are any with the leucovorin. wanda

Nonnie, The scientific name for leucovorin is 5-formyl Tetrahydrofolate. It is primarily used as a antidote for folic acid antagonists such as methotrexate. It supplies the necessary cofactor blocked by methotrexate. Many times it is also used along with 5-fluorouracil which is a cancer drug. Physicians should prescribe folic acid along with methotrexate when it is prescribed for an extended period of time. This usually prevents the necessity of Leucovrin. Leucovorin usually causes few adverse reactions, but can cause rash, pruritis (itching), erythema (redness, swelling) and urticaria (irregular plaque or lesion of edema on skin). Hope this is helpful! Wyllyd
