After and anxious 10-day wait for my 1st Enbrel script (hoping and praying my rheumy's application wouldn't be turned down!), it finally arrived in the post today! YAY!!

So, I made a special trip up the road to the shops this afternoon, in the pouring rain, to get the script made up only to be told by the pharmacist that they had just dispensed their last lot, so now I'll have to wait until Thursday (tomorrow's a Public Holiday here)

I was sooo disappointed. Oh well....I've been waiting years for this, I guess another couple of days won't make much difference.....?

I really hope it works for you. I felt great on it for about 4 months then boom it was gone, but for those couple of months I felt great....

The shots will be a breeze to do after a couple of weeks. Don't worry about those.
Enbrel was my miracle drug for about two years. Took a month to kick in, but it was brilliant once it did. Hopefully it will be even better for you!

Be patient, I didn't notice a thing until month 4 yet some improve quickly. Best wishes,

I'm glad Enbrel is working for you, but sorry it took 4 months! My rheumy said I should notice any improvement straight away if it's going to help me, and to stop taking it if it doesn't work, as it's such an expensive drug and I wouldn't want to be depriving anyone else.......
However, after reading all the different experiences everyone here has had it sounds as tho it could happen o/night, as in BIGDAS's case, or after 4 months, like you!

Thanks for the warning - I shall now be prepared not to give up on it too soon
I'll have to pass on that info to my rheumy as well, so he doesn't tell anyone else to give up on it too early!

I'm glad it helped you for a couple of years, but sorry it stopped after that
I just hope the drug co.'s can stay ahead of us so we have new meds to turn to when the old ones stop working!

the lit you'll find in the box will show a chart indicating that two weeks to four weeks is the average 'response'
time for enbrel...however, thingees keep getting better for several months and you won't really know how good
it's gonna work till about the four month mark.

i'm surprised that aussie pharmacy's 'stock' enbrel...round these parts, you call on the telephoneo and wait
till wednesday or thursday...

and big pharma, does indeed have new tricks up its sleeves...there's a new drug (like a bigger whup remicade)
in trials in canada...and there's another something else under development in australia.

are you getting the two a week shots...or the once a weeks shots ?
