If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hey, I was doing some surfing around people's old posts. And I read that our number one priority should be to heal the gut. Since I don't know how to go about healing my gut, I figured I'd ask the experts! So... how do I do that? And does gut healing mean possible full remision without diet one day? Thanks so much. Hi Peter - yes, apparently our guts seem to be very much the problem. At first I thought I was excluded from this, since I didn't have IBS or any type of digestion problems, but I am now convinced my gut is a mess. Something to do with the bacteria and fungus we seem to be prone to in our guts. One theory says thats what may have triggered the AS to begin with, but who knows for sure? It's still a mystery I think. Right now I am following a natural healing program, hopefully, finally get this under control with diet and supplements to build up my immune system (but I wonder can we with autoimmune disease really build up our immune system or won't it always be crap? I can only hope and try.), antifungals to kill the fungus, probiotics to increase the good bacteria and decrease the bad, etc. I found this program I've been following for almost a month now, and feeling better everyday. It's a long road to full recovery. http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/candidasupport/

hey,Jeanne. My brother, who teaches yoga,tai-chi,his passion is nutrition and being in the best health possible turned me on to a great book on nutritional health, recipes. I thought you might be interested. Its called, "Lifefood Recipe Book",Living on Life Force, by Annie Padden Jubb and David Jubb. More than a recipe book, it has great suggestions for cleansing, fasting, bowel health, healthy bacteria, starches, super foods, ect. Some might be put off by its new-ageyness,But I find it eye-opening and useful Gina

Thanks Gina, sounds like something I could use, thats for sure. I will look for it. I don't think anything could put me off, as much as my "medical" experiences of the past year. There has to be a better way.

Hey Pete,
I believe healing the gut is very important myself... I myself investigated and read on the matter quite a bit, but really did not start until 3 yrs into diet with full force. Ted (LaMonty) and Dragonslayer were the two I turned to with many questions here at the forum.
A have several great books, the best maybe being The Alternative Medicine Definitive Guide to Arthritis by Zamperion. A lot of stuff in the book... should be able to find at Barnes and Noble in the States.
I think probiotics (supplements or fermented foods) are a must. The supplement needs to be high quality and therefore will be expensive. Some here ferment foods... I have made my own yogurt (with wife helping) and rely more on supplements. Good bacteria help to displace the klebs and also help repair intestinal walls and create favorable ph in the GI.
The best supplement for repairing intestinal wall is L-glutamine... this can be found in cabbage juice, okra or supplements.
I believe the apple fast helps as well... fasting on mono-diet gives GI tract a breather so to speak from daily digestion and allows some healing and the oil regiment at the end provides healing as well.
Fish oil can also be very good for healing as well as aloe vera.
There is a lot of information here and elsewhere on the internet. If you want a list of some of the other books I have PM me. More of these are more difficult to find I assume.
I have always responded well to diet, only after I started trying to heal my gut did I find that I could tolerate a bit more starch... although this process has been very arduous as well (more than I though it would be).
A note of interest... I believe Argentina has more natural food and uses less antibiotics in meats... I think this has helped me here. Ice cream for me here is not an issue (natural).
Best to you.
Tim

Hey. Thanks alot Tim. I really apreciate all the help. I'm hoping that since I caught all of this quite early the damage to my guts might be minimal. Also I never took any of those harsh drugs I've read so much about. Yikes! Glad I found this diet before drug pushing doctors found me.

Jeanne,
Any chance you can copy it over, I was getting a web access registration comment (after I logged onto Yahoo).
