If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Well, this Friday I am due to join the ranks of the Remicade users.
I'd be lying if I said I was not rather nervous...about the potential side-effects and whether it works or not. There seems to be a rather diverse range of effectiveness reported here for Remicade.
So, you experienced users, any advice on what to do or expect for my first infusion?

Heeeyy! Congrats! Sorry, you know i'm not a remi user and can't offer advice there, but good luck with everything nonetheless. Are you at Foothills for it? I should be at work there on Friday if you want some company.

That would be cool and thanks, however, for this one I am in the clinic WAYYYYY down south...130th Ave I think.
I'll let you know if I do have one at Foothills...and no worries, you have given me mountains of advice on biologics and given me someone to talk to about AS - other than a doctor - who knows what I am talking about.

All the best with your treatment-I'm still on the Enbrel... I wish you success.

My advice: relax! You'll be fine. In fact, you'll most likely fall asleep. The worst that's ever happened to me during an infusion was the nurse making an oops with the needle and leaving an ugly purple mark on my arm. I hope it works well for you!!!

Ken, I wanted to wish you luck on Friday. I hope it becomes the Remimiracle for you that it has for so many of us. Go prepared to be there for a while. Take a polar fleece or something with you just in case you get chilly. And if you have to drive to get there, I would suggest that for the first one anyway you have someone to drive you home. The infusion tends to make people drowsy.
Good luck!
Hugs,
Kat

Thanks, Bridget;
Yeah, I too suspect I'll fall asleep...if for no other reason than I am going to have to get up quite early to drive to the other end of the city before rush-hour.

Ken, I'm sure you could do it, but why take the chance, you know? Thankfully, I can take public transit to and from the clinic quite easily if I need to.
Hugs,
Kat

I had my infusion on Friday and all I can say is "Holy Smokes".
After only one infusion I have already forgotten to take my usual dose of diclofenac several times (my bones reminded me in the past) and have the most energy I've had since I was a teenager...or younger. I can actually sit through a meeting without nearly falling asleep...and I go to some pretty boring meetings.
It is really too bad Remicade does not work for everyone because everyone here deserves to feel this good.
