If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi all long time no speak happy new years, xmas, and eid to all of you celebrating I have a quick question: what painkillers are the best for the "introduction"? I am allergic to acid-salicid based meds (andol, aspirine, tylenole) so please gimme few choices, if possible. I haven't had any painkillers so far. i am 30 (will be in 2 weeks) and have SI joints grown together, as well as 3 joints in my lower spine. lately i am experiencing a whole lots of pain: before, i could have endured it for days, w/o too much trouble, but lately it got so bad i want to start taking some medication, in moderation, of course. because of fear of addiction (check other pain killer threads here) i haven't had them so far, and also because i am aware of imminence of such step in my life... i am almost 30, which means, even with moderate use, i have great chances to be hooked up by the age of 40 however, pain is really bad as of this winter - it is keeping me awake for hours, disabling regular movement, it hurts when i am walking, sleeping, sitting, working, having sex - even when i am on the toilet it is really really hard to turn back and clean myself so please help - what are meds, by your experience, taht are good for starters? thank you all and god bless you

Hello,
I am sorry to hear that you are in a lot of pain right now. I can relate to not being able to sit on the toilet very well and it really hurting to sit there.
Since you have an allergy to ASA, have you tried Ibuprofen (Advil, Aleve)? It is an over-the-counter medication. it is made from isobutylphenyl propionic acid. I have found that it worked for me when I first started having AS symptoms.
Just a thought. Take good care of yourself,
Trina

Hi again
I started taking 75mg naklofen duo (diclofenacum) which is a localy-made NSAID... however, if I skip couple of days, pain comes back again, in tidal waves... it creeps in early in the morning.. it might be my physical biorhytm - i just checked it - today's says that it can't be worse, it has negative peak... well at least there is tomorrow, and day after it, and it is gonna get better.
cheers to all of you try to forget the pain

Indomethacin got me from a prone, unable to move on my own position, to walking and better. It's a NSAID. Like most meds, it has side effects, different for each person. Some of these can be bad, but better than the alternative?

indomethecin warns about catastrophic gastric bleeding, potential mood-swings, depression and suicide...from so little as a single pill...Nsaids thin the blood so even the smallest gi 'trouble spot' does not heal and can lead to ulcers, gerd etc...serious long term life-threatening problems...for your information 15,000- 16,000 people per year in the us die horrible deaths from this type of medication...that's about equal to the deaths caused by drunk drivers or Aids...in the us...at this time. and it is NOT a 'pain killer'; it's an anti-inflammatory. yeah, if it don't kill you fast, it will let you stand up and walk...however, Nsaids accelerate disease progression. sure, you mileage may vary. it's still russian roulette. if i wanted to commit suicide by pill it'd be 47 reds and a bottle of wine...not indomethecin. this is the worst of 1950's medicine...there are many better alternatives on which to base a maintainence program. they can't even give this sort of stuff to horses. friends don't let friends...etc, etc. best aB

He Ben.... Thanks for your message. You are right about the Indocin. Been there. Got a bleeding ulcer. Never going back there. Are you still bored? I figured by now you would have been online and figured out all my problems. ) Always good to hear from you. I never did here from you on my little "poem" I sent you. I thought you would get as much of a kick out of it as we did. We must be more juvenile in our sense of humor. ) Thank you always for your support. Possi

Hi there, Iznogud!
If you are worried about the side effects of the meds [as I am also] you can check out the NSD forum. I found the diet to be VERY helpful and with NO harmful side effects, only good ones!
Cheers, Rita
