If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi everyone, Does andbody here have problems with Episcleritis (inflamation of the lining of the eye) ? I have had intermittent red eyes for about 20 yrs but only diagnosed in the last 3. Last week my right eye flared again but this time i had pain when i closed it and pressed it, so off to opticians again i go only to be told the same thing. Had a doctors visit last monday anyway, he said maybe its infected so gave me ointment which i used till Saturday. It had JUST about cleared. Sunday they were both fine. I get up today got abit of a think head, blurry vision (in the left eye) look in the mirror and youv'e guessed it another red eye Does anyone else have this or is it just iritis or uveitis?

Did you go to an optician or an opthamologist? I have no experience with teh problem you've been diagnosed with, but just in case, you should have a full check up with an opthamologist. If it's iritis and not Episcleritis, it needs to be treated.
Sounds horrible regardless of what it is. I hope you're feeling better soon.
Hugs,
Kat

I have a lot of different eye problems and I had episcleritis in the past. The Optho got it cleared up and it has not come back. I have chronic Iritis and Blepharospasms. Take care of your peepers. Possi

Hi
you need to see an Opthomologist - get a referal from your Dr - While you are waiting for this appointment if you see your Optician mention that iritis is a common complication of AS and is he/she sure you do not have this??? Eye stuff can be serious>
all the best

My husband has a serious problem with Uveitis that started with days or episodes over some time of coming and going. Thought it was dry eyes as he's always into something and in his sixties. NOT. It finally showed fully. Had he gone to the Doc. when he was having a episode it may have been caught early. You need to see the Doc. when you are having a bad time and they should stand ready as it is important, and take you in with a phone call. Only takes a minute to examine you. Best thing to do is see an Opthalmologist which is a bonified eye MD.

Hi: I have iritis as well, it has been very persistent since this July. I am wondering are you following the NSD diet? I have been NSD and my eye has been much better, in fact, the last visit to the opthamologoist, Oct 17, he told me there was virtually NO inflammation left in the eye. Of course I told him about NSD [check out the forum if you haven't already]. However, being NSD I sometimes seem to feel the need to test my boundaries! Last night I had a little spaghetti [maybe 1/2 cup worth], this morning, my eye is red and sore to the touch. [It tends to be sore when I close it and press on the eye and eyelid] So, definitely no more starch for me and my eye will improve again over the next day or so. I am still on the steroid drops [down to 3 times a day instead of every hour] and the dilating drops once a day instead of 4 times a day. Go to the opthamologist and ask him directly if you have iritis, make sure he knows you have AS as well. Also, it seems that quite a bit of the medical community knows very little about AS so you may have to educate them a little!! Good luck, and make sure you get it checked out. In case you haven't read on the site regarding iritis, it is the 2nd leading cause of blindness!! Rita
