Hi,

Hips are still working, barely. So I can't advise you there, but there are others here who can. I do want to say welcome. This place is a great place for support, information, and someplace to whine or laugh. We seem to do a lot of both.

Welcome again,

Cindy

Welcome, Raj! Hips still working here but I'm afraid what I could really use is a spine transplant Unfortunately they haven't quite perfected that technique yet.

Hi Raj and Welcome. Like it's already been said "You've come to the right place". I have been having lot's of problems with my hips which has now ended me up in a wheelchair. Fortunately, lately I haven't had to use it too much because of the strong pain killers I am on, but even then there are times that they just won't move. My doctor's and I have talked about hip replacements, but my insurance will not even consider it until they are completely shot...who knows how long that will take. So I guess I can't be of too much help there, although I can honestly say I understand your pain.
Thankfully alot of us here have very supportive families, and I'm glad your one who has been blessed with that also, but even with the help of families, nothing compares to this site and the knowledge and support that comes from people who truly understand what it's like to have AS.
Take Care and again welcome to the family,
Lisa

Hi LittleSis,

Thanks for the welcome !! Its bad that your insurance would not consider THR. How long have you had this problem.???

I also take pain medicine and am able to do all the normal activities.. Can't go and spend a day in the mall.. thats another story ..

But thanks a ton for replying to my msg.. just talking to you all makes me feel good.

Thank once again.

Hey Cheryl,

Thanks for the welcome... Am sure they will perfect the spine art soon enough.. There isn't any back replacement but I read there was some kind of back surgery avaliable... Atleast your hips are alright :)

Takecare,
Raj

Hey Cindy,

Good that your hips are working... I hope they keep on working for a long time... This AS really has strange symptoms.. Seems like it affects everyone differently...

I hope they can find a cure for this thing..

Certainly this is a great place.

Thanks for the welcome.

Sorry to hear about your new Dx of As. You have come to the right place to talk to people, because your As will only get worse as time past. So keep fighting and when you have good days enjoy them, because your bad days seem like your in hell. Every one here is in the same boat, all with AS but living and refusing to let this monster get the better of us.

Rick
