Its been a while since I have visited the site. I'm glad to see it continues to prosper and serve the AS community. I'm seeking advise. I was involved in a car accident two years ago. The car was totalled (I was hit from behind). I spent a week in the hospital and a year and half trying to recover from severe brusing (I could only sleep upright in a chair). Due to scattering on the x-rays and c-scan after the accident I could not get a good rendering of injuries sustained (I had a resection osteotomy done back in '96 with rods running from s-1 to t-6). The impact from the rear-ending jarred me hard enough to break the driver's seat. I believe the rods sparred my spine from serious consequences. However, in seeking compensation for the injuries sustained the insurance company is not compliant. Only when I accused them of discrimination and filed a complaint with a statewide agency that oversees insurance industry in New York did the insurance company become interested in my claim. Anyone out there run into a similar situation? Difficulty with an insurance company addressing a claim due to a pre-existing condition? Any thoughts on how to proceed are welcomed.

Sorry that I am of no help in this area.

I have always been a bit fearful of being rear ended in a car... I commend you on your courage and strength with your battle. I hope and pray that you find the answers you are looking for.

Take care,

Tim
