I was on indocin years ago. Seemed to work for the pain, but it turned me into a zombie. I walked around in a heavy, heavy fog 'till I got off it. Just my experience.

I'm an NSAID flunky too. Indocid was the first of them. Man that was eeeeeviiiiil, evil stuff. Knocked me flat on my back for 4 days after my first two pills. Diahrea, nausea, couldn't eat, couldn't move without help. Horrible horrible horrible.

Thank goodness for Remicade. That's all I can say.

Hugs,

Kat

Worst drug I have ever taken. It set off extreme depression on me. Please do proper investigation before taking this drug. I wish I did.

All the best.

Indocin was one of the first drugs they tried on me. My grandfather used to take it everyday of his life without any problems, so imagine my surprise when I took it, and it felt like someone had rammed a red-hot I-beam through my stomach... It was one of the very worst medication experiences of my life... worse even than Celebrex that turned me into a prickly red rash from head to foot! I would stay FAR FAR away from it.

Hello all!

First of all, what is "Flunky"? It must mean that you don't get along with NSAIDs? Anyway, I was on Indocin for 5 years. It was the only thing that worked for me, and I was about to praise it until I read Ali say it set him off into depression. It made me realize that I did go through depression for much of the 5 years - and maybe that is why! I figured it was the pain that was causing depression, but I'm sure the Indocin had something to do with it.

Kevgj - TRY the ENBREL, I finally made the switch and have done great with it. That was about 2 years ago, and I haven't taken Indocin since. The shots...well, have somebody give them to you instead. I refuse to give them to myself. For me, the benefit FAR outweighs the minor pain of the injection!

Best wishes,
Eric

Indocin got me up and walking from a state of being unable to change positions in the bed I was confined to. It made me a bit woozy the first day or so, and combined with coffee made me so lightheaded I felt like I might pass out sometimes, but it was better than the alternative. After 12 or so years of varied amount of use it started causing painful urination which lets up when I don't use it.
