If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hiya,
Try olive oil on your salads and lots of starch-free mayonaise. Also almonds and other safe nuts are about 50% fat.
My husband cannot tolerate cheese very well. In fact, he didn't make much progress on the NSD until he eliminated all diary so I can't help with cheese suggestions.
All the best Chelsea

Sundar,
I eat fresh pork sausage with my morning fruit and yogurt, and add either coconut or coconut milk to my fruit bowl. If I make a smoothie I spoon in some pure coconut oil. I buy whole milk yogurt.
I try to remember to take fish oil daily, and use olive oil to cook with.
A regular part of my diet are walnuts, pecans and almonds. As a treat sometimes I have hazelnuts, macadamias, Brazil nuts and cashews.
Fats, I believe are essential to good health and energy, particularly for NSD’rs.
Paul

Hi Paul & Sundar,
Cashew nuts are very starchy (13%) even more so than peanuts (6.5%). Perhaps you can get away with them Paul but I suspect most people wouldn't be able to.
Safe: Almonds, Brazil nuts, Coconut, Macadamias, Pine nuts, Walnuts, Pistachio (borderline, some people have trouble with these). Hazelnuts & Pecan nuts might be OK also.
I know for sure that Almonds, Pine nuts and Macadamias are OK for my husband. Not sure about the other "safe" ones listed. Your best best is to test with iodine if in doubt.
Definately Unsafe: Cashews, Chestnuts, Peanuts,
Take care Chelsea

Hi Sundar A nice dessert my husband used to have was pavlova (mainly egg whites & sugar) with homemade raspberry sauce and/or chocolate sauce (if you tolerate it OK) poured over and fruit. We also used to have merringues sandwiched together with almond butter (tastes pretty similar to peanut butter) and with chocolate sauce. Also you can make muffins and cakes etc from almond flour. There are some recipes in the Diet Specific Recipe Forum Chelsea

This looks a lot like my safe list... except have not tried hazelnuts or pecans. Pistachios were not safe at first, but now they are after healing. Also I like pepitas and have no issue with these.
I had a lot of issues maintaining weight until I did 3 days apples diets several times. Now I also eat all natural yogurt with friendly bacteria... commercial yogurt does me in.
The better shape your GI is in, the more starch you can handle.
Take care,
Tim

Some of these things have already been mentioned, but here's a list of things that should help you gain weight and that I should avoid but don't. coconut semi-sweet chocolate (make you're own version of a Mounds with those two things -- mix together in a bowl and eat with a spoon) nuts as others have already mentioned -- there are cake recipes made of nuts here on this web site -- check out the recipe forum or the sticky posts at the top of this forum for some recipes -- there are several chocolate cake recipes full of butter, eggs, semi-sweet chocolate and nuts that are quite delicious and totally full of calories; you can also find almond bread recipes here and at the scdrecipe web site. Butter if you can tolerate it; salad dressings made with olive oil -- there are salad dressing recipes on the recipe forum, full fat mayonnaise nut milk recipes are quite yummy and full of easily drinkable calories -- I've posted some on the recipe forum almond butter is loaded with calories and is quite a yummy treat tahini (made of sesame seeds) halvah bars (also from sesame, but if you tolerate sesame make sure the bars you buy don't have added starches -- I think most Joya -- or is it Jova? -- bars are okay) Have fun!!! Hopefully you'll put on some weight. If only I could give you some of mine!!!! Like about 30 pounds! Paula

Any time you eat a vegetable, try slathering it with extra-virgin olive oil or real, no-starch mayonaise. Try to make sure each meal contains the trinity of protein, fat, and vegetables and fruits. People try to hold their weight on the meat but it's the vegetables and fats that make this possible. You need the fiber to slow things down and the fat for long burning fuel. You can also do this with the notoriously dry ground up turkey and buffalo meats, add lots of olive oil to it as it cooks and a dash of cider vinegar. I don't eat pork but I will spice up meat to taste like sausage. I eat a LOT of nuts also, mainly almonds and walnuts. Every afternoon I will eat a homemade trail mix of nuts and raisins. Pecans are so darn expensive I save those for holiday treats. I also eat some dark chocolate every day. I don't think they are putting much milk in Hershey bars or kisses anymore because I can even eat one of those if I need a snack and am not carrying something safe. I can just see it now. Some cop pulls me over some day, and discovers my glove box is completely filled with near empty zip lock baggies with traces of almonds and a few dried up raisins and fig stems in each one. Someone from here is going to have to bail me out pending the lab analyis. I also love making almond flour pancakes and then putting honey and fruit and whipped cream or maple syrup on them for either a brunch or dessert type of item. I also will make up almond meal breads and put "stuff" on the slices and toast or microwave them. If you can tolerate cheese, you can even make miniature cheese sandwiches out of them, or miniature chocolate sandwiches out of them with cream cheese and pretend they are "some=mores", the traditional campfire treat. Tofu type of snack- put juicy berries in a bowl, like blueberries, put tofu on top, chop up tofu and mix up into berry juices, add honey and flax seed oil and chopped coconut and walnuts or almonds. I KNOW this is fattening because I eat it all the time and I'm not thin. IF you can tolerate ripe avocado, (that's going to be an iffy one for a lot of people) nothing is better than homemade simple guacamole as a vegetable garnish. Mash a very ripe avocado, add a squeeze of lime or lemon juice, a small amount of olive oil, and a drop of Tabasco chipotle sauce, and mix. Serve over chopped tomatoes and cilantro with more olive oil and salt. Macaroons made with honey, egg white, and coconut are also really good. Some health food stores carry these and they are great.

Also look at the apple fast as it is designed to increase one's ability to digest fats. I eat halva for sweet snack value.
