hi peeps, a friend of mine is tearing herself up over her 17 year old nephew who has very very severe crohns. I know some of you guys are sufferers and I was hoping I could be pointed to a crohns support forum or generally receive some tips to pass on....

Thanks all.

Hi, Sarah:

I made a copy of the documentary about Dr. Judy Griffin and her struggle with Crohn's and use of flower essences to heal herself. Her results were and are remarkable, but I would still go with Ebringer first--there is no substitute for that kind of success.

Health, and pass it around,
John

I was just recently diagnosed with Crohns as well. I found a lot of useful info at IBDsucks.com.

Hiya,

we've had some colitis scares over the years and can empathis with the concerns....not nice in adults but children real scary. However well managed it is not the end of the World, which is the story I tell most people.

With mild disease you can try things but me thinks with more severe disease you treat agressively and quickly with convenctional drugs. Later when in remission try lifestyle things. I know many with both forms of IBD that do have dietary triggers diary in the one camp and starchey foods in the other.

Being 17 is much better than younger as the poor thing will have grown. With IBD the response to the various drugs can be very variable. But you have to plug on with some and others you just quit as you get to know the normal range of your condition. Being a first timer he will not know....hence a good specialist is very important "one that trusts him and he's trust's them".

We've had good results with lifestyle in the past and my son is really going well on a low white starch diet (suspected colitis) but we got to him before he had the chance to get really chronic funny enough 2 weeks and 3 days later his swollen joints stiffness neck pain were fantastic. 2 weeks later he was growing again.

I've seen that in him several times, but I repeat in kids and with anything other than mild disease go the meds first in my opinion.

David
