If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi everyone, It has been so long since I posted, I am ashamed of myself. But I have a question or two about bone cyst. It started about a year ago with just one on my left ankle, painful but tolerable. About two months ago it was hurting and swelling pretty bad, so I went to the doc. Now he says I have four just on that one foot and at least one on the other. They are really disrupting my being able to walk normaly. I was diagnosed 3 years ago, and thought I knew quite alot about AS, however I never heard of this. Second question, what can be done if anything? Thanks for any info you have. Debbie

Did he given them a name? I had a swelling when I had achilles tendonitis.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life

Hi I am sorry to hear u r haing so much pain and have these bone cysts. I am afraid its not something i know much about. Is there anything that can b done to get rid of them? Does the dr know what dr know whats causing them? I really would b surprised if it wasnt possible it was AS related. Good luck i hope u can get them sorted soon, and u can get some releif from the pain they r causing. take care heather

I went to my GP with the pain and he is the one that found them. He just called it a bone cyst, of course that was about a year ago. When I went back with more pain in more places of the foot he x-rayed again and told me there were like 4 more. Still says they are bone cyst. I asked him if there was anything we could do and he said we would start with some blood work. Did that well over two weeks ago, and I have not heard a word from him. I do not know what blood work would tell him about cyst, however I am not a doc. Debbie

Hi Debbie, I've never had these myself, but would guess that anything to do with bone remodelling is likely related to your AS in some way. I think(?) I read somewhere in past that there's a 17% prevelance of developing these if one has a dx of AS, although my memory is not the best. Here is a link to eMedicine that might be of interest re: Bone CystsI hope your doc can find a way to help you... not being able to walk comfortably for any reason is a real hardship. mig

Hi Debbie,
I have not had issues with this, but I would think if you are having trouble with walking then you need to get some answers quick.
If it is a bone cyst..can it be drained or is it bone that needs to be filed down?
If it just with your feet have you thought about seeng a podiatrist?
Keep us updated,
Lisa

Debbie, don't wait for your doc to call you-call his office to set up an appointment to follow up on your test results. Then take it from there. In the meantime, do your internet research on this stuff and make a list of questions...
Blessings, Sigrid
