like many here i suffer from IBS and have noticed a link between the gut and AS. i have noticed lately that the food that i eat does not digest completely. is this the idea behind leaky gut? is there anything that i can do to aid digestion? is there anything that i can do to decrease or "heal" gut permeability?

You might try taking some enzymes, they won't hurt you, and might help.

My natural doctor gave me something called Wobenzyme (i think that was it) It worked wonders for digestion and inflamation)

Wobenzyme is big in Europe.

I take enyzmes with my breakfast and evening meals to help break down the food. Do believe it helps.
