Well, had it not been Saturday, I would have been on the phone! I've called four times today and have yet to hear back... Thanks for replying--at least I know something like this has happened to someone else at some point!

Ah ha! Brilliant, Ottis! This is definitely the best explanation yet. He was very young and told me he was a new doctor, and the pharmacy only looked in the Florida registry. Now I just have to get through to the dr's office...
Thanks!!!

I like the "Space and time warp" explanation. I could use another warp about now... I need more time to get the rx before my defense!!! I looked up his name/license in Florida and it wasn't there, but Ottis pointed out he may be new to the state.
Thanks!

Come on down and growl away! I'd love to meet you, even if you're growly. I CAN'T WAIT to get to Boston, snow and all. I like the snow, and I'm sure once I get treaded wheelchair tires I'll be "ready to roll." I've been on the phone today trying to reach them, but I must not be trying hard enough. I only called four times, leaving messages about my "serious predicament" and the need to get this figured out "as soon as humanly possible."
Thanks,

Thanks, Kat! I get the same impression of A.Ben... a natural growler. Update: I've finished writing the thesis(!!!)--all 193 pages--printed it out 3 times (I'm broke!!!), and given it to my committee members. (And if anyone wants a chapter to proofread, they're easily emailed! ) Thanks for the encouragement. If I don't get my meds by Wednesday I'll just ask my roommie to wheel me in, prop me up, and leave me to fake my way through the questions to the best of my ability and try not to break down into tears as they rip me to shreds. At least two of my three committee members are nice, optomistic, personable, supportive, helpful, caring, reasonable people. The third is none of those and would probably immensely enjoy seeing me (or causing me to) fall flat on my face...

Hi, Dan! It's so good to see you around again! You really had me worried for awhile there. Thanks for the advice, unfortunately it is far beyond my budgetary means (especially after printing out close to 600 pages of thesis "junk" at the library today... ). I'm working on bombarding them with phone messages.

Erie, that is so weird!! But there are many possibilities, which have been stated...I think calling and tracking the doc down yourself may be the thing...it could be that someone didn't enter the docs data in the computer yet...it happens...

But, your MASTERS THESIS.....that ROCKS.....you freakin' ROCK, having followed your life story for awhile here on KA, I just want to say that I am proud of you, you are doing it, you WILL do it, you've come this far....forget the meds, go for it, you are Lance Armstrong and nothing can stop you...you will ride into Paris and they will applaud!!!!

I know I will log on here on Wednesday to read of your total success!!!

Peace

Bruno says most disappearances of this type are easily explained. He also points out that once the credentials mysteriously vanish ..... it is not long before the Doc ... er...

Sorry to hear about this major glich. Hopefully the Doc is not a charlatan and just some computer somewhere ate up her credentials or some other oddity. Pain med's are probably very helpful in crunch time.

Best wishes on Wednesday and the Masters Thesis defense. As scary as it sounds today, try to enjoy the moment. Most of us poor fools out here can't put together a thesis let alone defend it before a panel of sage-type folks.

I suspect you don't need my best wishes or lick of any sort since thus far you continue to convince ASKickers like me that you are quite an amazing force to be reckoned with.

From someone who's survived a defense, lemme just say it's not going to be as bad as you expect. I dont predict that you'll believe me, I certainly didn't believe those that came before me, but hopefully soon enough, you'll see that it's the truth. My advisor and I HATED each other by the time I defended, I was shaking in my boots. Minutes prior to my defense the two of us were in the hallway, alone, walking towards each other and he didnt say A WORD to me. Grrr. Anyhow, he was disgustingly polite during the defense, and actually passed on the second round of questions!

A couple of tips if I may? You are never going to cram the details of your thesis into your presentation. The presentation is a brief overview of the blood sweat and tears you've poured into this over the last however many years. They have your thesis and your question period for details, so keep that presentation short and sweet. And as for the question period... this is your mantra "Nobody knows this topic as well as me." Honestly hon, YOU'RE the one that is the expert on this stuff. All the other so-called experts in the room are experts in different (albeit related) areas. Do NOT let them intimidate you. You are an ASKicker, let them hear you roar (or at the very least import Ben ASAP).

For what it's worth, I wholeheartedly believe the theory that Ottis has suggested ... and honey, I know that you've spent nearly every last cent you have on surviving the writing/printing your thesis, but if they wont cover the cost of the delivery, pay to have it delivered. If you have exhausted potential options and still not received your Rx, try the ER. I'm worried about the pain and the potential for any type of withdrawal...

Listen you, go rest up. Being an expert takes a lot of energy Give 'em h-e-double hockey sticks, or at the very least, like my favourite relative says - give em turkey.

Not that you'll need it, but it's the 'right' thing to say: Good luck, break a leg and other assorted sayings of well wishes

I'll be thinking of you.

PPS - That doc's signature didn't look anything like M-i-k-e G-i-n-n-y did it?

Oh c'mon, I'm just teasing! You all know Mike would have said it of me, if he wasnt too busy to post! Poor guy. Hope he's surviving OK.
