If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Klem, my office isn't too far from the Eastend where all the chaos is occuring at the moment, all I hear all day is sirens at the moment, bloody horrible.

Jo, Bill and Sarah, I'm glad to have heard from you all. I know these were 'small' explosions and that they have the actual bombs that they were supposed to detonate, but it's frightening to see the exact same pattern, with the exact same type of bomb just a fortnight later. I heard on the news this morning that police had shot a suspect dead. Good. I'm not the blood thirsty type, but this ... Although, since they're hoping for martyrdom, perhaps sending them to jail for life and denying them what they hope for is the better way to go. Quote:
This is going to get very boring if they keep this up every fortnight.
Jo, thank you for this. It is one of the things that I believe will hold Britain's head high, regardless of what the attackers try to do. Although, I don't quite have a name for what you've said with this. But I hope you know what I mean.
Many hugs to all of you,
Kat

Hi Jo, SarahD, Bilko and all those having to put up with these terrorist attacks in London. Keep your heads down and your wits about you. Birmingham, where I work had a taster again tonite, the trains and buses were stopped and there were poor people having to walk miles to reach a bus or a train further out of the city, felt so sorry for them. Any way, thinking of you all. Stay in touch.
Stay Well

Good to hear that Kickers are all safe on the other side of the pond. Can only hope this comes to an end.
Take care,
Tim

When the policeman who was chasing that man who a few others had just taken him down, walked up to the suspect and emptied his gun into the mans body. One shot in the chest through the heart would have also killed him.
The sad part was that on the news this morning, the dead man was not a bomber nor was under suspicion. He had no bombs nor guns. He was dressed with a bulky sweater underneath his jacket which caused him to be labelled as a suspect and running for his life because he saw a man with a gun chasing him.
Apparently, the police over there have the right to kill if they believe that they are facing a bomber.
This was all on the Canadian news services today.
A lesson perhaps? If you are a Canadian tourist and you either have bulky sweaters or are excessively fat, don't take any chances. Wear a Canadian T-shirt EH?

`I heard on the news this morning that police had shot a suspect dead. Good.` Predictably, this bloke was innocent. I could have told you that before they even announced it. Happy now? Instead of over- reacting and praying to a god that doesn`t exist, why don`t you try genning up on the subject? We never used to shoot `suspects` point blank in this country, sadly, it looks like we are finally descending to the level of the US. I`m still waiting for all the sympathy and prayers for the innocent Iraq casualties. Can`t see that happening.

Karen,
You seem to forget the tensions that are a reality back there right now. Until I posted the late news about the man who was shot, nobody who posted earlier knew about it.
Perhaps they didn't have your built in gift of precognition. Maybe you can cool it a bit. I don't believe in a supreme being either but I don't put that on my lance and carry it around with me. It's fine with me if you don't believe in a god. Maybe instead, you might try believing in some consideration for your fellow ASKickers?

Tell you what George, I`m going to get out of this place. You sound like an intelligent man, and I`ve met a lot of cool people here, but I`m sick of the whole thing. You get cencored for criticising someones tofu pie, you get told off for not being `sensitive` etc etc. When I found this site I never in my wildest dreams thought it would be a weird sunday school for soppy Americans. To all the people who have understood I will say thanks. As for the rest of you.... `Fairy dust to you all` I`ll deal with AS in my own way from now on. See ya. Kaz xx

My word snotbox, what planet are you on?
the police had no choice in this instance .. it is a horrific tragedy but given the facts that the man was under surveillance as leaving from a suspect address, wearing heavy clothes on a hot day, failed to stop, jumped a barrier, failed to stop, jumped onto a crowded tube train I don't unfortunately believe if I was the person trained and authorised to stop a suicide bomber taking more innocent lives that I would do any different
these are the sad, unfortunate times we live in, this is the sad world we live in
My heart goes out to the victim and his family and also to those who had to authorise and take such a gut-wrenching action with such tragic consequences
Take care Justine
