FYI-Because of its literal definition ("fear of the marketplace"), agoraphobia is often misunderstood as a fear of crowds or a fear of open spaces. The clinical definition of agoraphobia is a fear of situations or places "from which escape might be difficult (or embarrassing) or in which help may not be available in the event" of a panic attack.

Hi all, Thank u all for such a nice warm welcome!!! I think the best part of joining KickAS is just having people that can actually relate not only to the pain we all suffer, but also to the thoughts and feelings that come along with it, that nobody else except an AS sufferer can actually fully understand. They,(our families, spouses, and friends),may try to understand and lend support, but, it's not the same as sharing it with all of you. So anyway, thanks again, nice to know I'm not the only freak out there!!LOL Sue
