If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I came across the following link about Glyconutrients while researching AS. http://www.glycoboy.com/ankylosingSpondylitis.aspI'm a bit sceptical after reading it.

>> Sceptical also when someone tries to sell their own products on the net.
It certainly doesn't add to her credibility. However if it worked for me, I might also want to sell the stuff.. so I will go easy on her. And besides, her symptoms and history resemble my own so closely ! Anyways, you don't need to buy any supplement, just do some research and you will see that these sugars appear in some unusual foods such as shitake mushrooms (aka: shiitake), seaweed, etc, etc.
Yeah, I read about this stuff ages ago, the site I was reading would refer to glyconutrients as the eight 'essential sugars'.
I copied this quote from the link you gave, as what she says accurately summarises the stuff that I had read:
Quote:
from http://www.glycoboy.com/ankylosingSpondylitis.asp
What are glyconutrients? The answer is beautifully simple. The cells of the body are supposed to be covered with antennae. The job of these antennae is to tell the body what the cells needs -- specific nutrients, repair, destruction if cancerous, etc. Without adequate antennae, the cells can’t make enough antennae, so cannot communicate sufficiently with the body. When injury or disease strikes, they are unable to adequately heal the damage. Disease overwhelms the body.
These antennae are made of glycoprotein – molecules made of 8 specific simple sugars (the “glyco” part), and proteins. But the average American diet, and even most special diets (organic, etc.) are deficient in 6 of these 8 “essential sugars” (also called monosaccharides). We used to be taught that sugar’s only use in the body is energy. Now, we know that certain sugars perform the life-sustaining job of cell-to-cell communication. Without these critical building blocks, auto-immune disease (arthritis, Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, etc.), diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and many more conditions, go unchecked in the body. We can see the epidemic of disease among our relatives and friends, as well as in medical statistics. Suffering and death are everywhere – in young and old, rich and poor, alike.
When adequate amounts of these 8 essential sugars are added to the diet, the cells can grow the antennae they need, communicate with each other, and begin to heal the body.

this thread is vaguely related.. as fucose is one of the eight essential sugars (glyconutrients):
* title: Fucose, fucans, Sea Kelp and Inflammtion. Bowel et
https://www.kickas.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=193828
* the link below has some really excellent information. This site lists the glyconutrients and their concentration in various foods :

Studies have shown that these “Essential Eights” have the following assets:
* Potent antiviral, antibacterial, antiparasitic, and antitumor effects
* Helps immune cells recognize invaders by increasing intelligent cell communication
* Enables cellular components to “stick” to each other so as initiate the right reactions
* Raises natural killer cell and macrophage counts against infectious organisms
* Increases the body’s resistance to viruses, including those that cause the common cold, influenza, herpes, and hepatitis
* Activates immune T-cell activity only when invaders or antigens are present
* Reduces allergies and chronic disease symptoms of arthritis, diabetes, lupus, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, HIV, cancer, kidney disease, and others
* Decreases cell death in chronic fatigue syndrome
* Elevates disease resistance in weakened individuals
* Accelerates burn and wound healing
* Helps heal such skin conditions as poison ivy and psoriasis
* Reduces the number of recurrent ear infections
* Acts as antioxidant compounds
* Protects the body against toxin and pollutant exposure
* Slows the aging process
* Decreases inflammation

oh, my mistake. The woman with Ankylosing Spondylitis testimonial is a nurse.. not the same person as the guy who is selling the glyconutrients (David Saunders)

yeah I know .. who needs to pay the rediculously inflated prices from those MLM schemes. So far this is the best web site I have found describing where each nutrient is found and in what quantities :
http://www.innvista.com/health/nutrition/essensug/default.htm
I guess the second best source would be Dr Duke's, but it seems to be down at the moment :
* Dr. Duke's Phytochemical and Ethnobotanical Databases
Use this resource to find out what phytochemical is in what plant, what medicinal properties a plant has, etc

I think there is a lot of people on the Internet who are trying to take advantage of those who suffer from incurable diseases. Just search the word "Ankylosing Spondylitis" in Google and you get lots of "sponsored links" telling people about how someone managed to sure AS and how to purchase their products!!

This is from some old notes on my hard drive so some of the links may not work .. I think you can figure out which numbers are for concentration and which are for references # Fucose -* diet: Fucose is readily found in several medicinal mushrooms, such seaweeds as kelp (240,000 ppm) and wakame, and beer yeast. # Galactose -* diet: fruits, Cabbage (4,400), Broccoli ( 2,700), Leeks (6,600), Onions (4,500), Plums ( 2,600), Apples (800), etc... (1) kelp/seaweed? (4) # Glucose -* diet: ubiquitous # Mannose -* diet: aloe vera (1) kelp/seaweed? (4) # N-acetylgalactosamine -* diet: Chondroitin sulfate, Bovine and Shark cartilages# N-acetylglucosamine -* diet: Glucosamine sulfate (best source), Shiitake mushrooms, Bovine and Shark cartilage"Glucosamine is a naturally occurring amino sugar synthesized in the body from L-glutamine and glucose" (5). Glutamine is found in aloe in huge amounts, and in lesser amounts in dates, oranges, and pineapple (3). # N-acetylneuraminic acid -* diet: Hen’s egg, Whey protein isolate or concentrate (not the powder) # Xylose -* diet: Guava, Pears, Blackberries, Loganberries, Raspberries, Aloe Vera gel, Kelp, Echinacea, Boswellia, Psyllium, Broccoli, Spinach, Eggplant, Peas, Green Beans, Okra, Cabbage, Corn, Carob.(1) kelp/seaweed (4) == links / sources == (1) excelent info ***** non commercial http://www.innvista.com/health/nutrition/essensug/default.htm( 2) some good info http://www.avantrex.com/resources/Sweet2003-3.html(3) Dr. Duke's Phytochemical and Ethnobotanical Databases non commercial http://www.ars-grin.gov/duke/(4) commercial site http://marleenr.findinglimu.com/about.html(5) http://www.fitnesstransform.com/supplements.php(6) commercial site http://www.eightsugars.com/
