Does anyone get a strange feeling in in the neck and throat area after injecting Enbrel? It's almost like my throat is swelling outward, from the inside. Although, the inside of my throat in the mouth area really isn't tender. I thought I was getting sick and went through a round of Anti-biotics, but this feeling seems very odd.
I understand that this isn't a great deal of info to go on, but I was just trying to get a feel for any of you that experience sore neck, throat symptoms from Enbrel.

 Thanks,

 Steve

No problem. :) You're response is appreciated. I'm trying to eliminate Enbrel as the cause so I can look into what other drugs I take may be the culprit.
 Thanks for your time.

 Steve

Have not had any problem and have not heard of Enbrel causing this.

Steve,
I haven't had the reaction you're describing. Just the routine injection site redness and swelling.

My concern is that the swelling or tightening in your throat could be an allergic reaction. I'd be inclined to discuss this with my doc right away!

I hope I'm wrong but, it doesn't hurt to check.

 Take care,

 Kirst

For the first 4 months or so that I was taking Enbrel I got frequent sore throats. They were not like you are describing. Right around the time that I was to inject my throat would become raw and I would be convinced that I was getting sick but about a day after the injection it would go away. The doctor could never explain it and after 4 months or so it went away. I don't know if that helps but...Stacey

Hi Stacey,I found the exact same thing - sore throat while on enbrel (but like you, nothing like what was described above - that sounds like more of an allergic reaction). They never managed to develop into anything and would go away for a day or 2 but always come back. I figured i was well enough to continue with shots, so nothing ever came of it. I've now been off it for a week due to bladder infection, and low and behold, no sore throat. I wonder if it will reappear once I start shots again...
 Take care,
 Megan

Hi All,
I really appreciate the responses... To give you an update, the problem has either gone away or I've narrowed it down to a couple of things. I'm an Engineer, so unfortunately it's instilled in my brain to always find solutions to my problems. Anyway, I looked at all the things I've been putting in my body on a daily basis:

 Enbrel
 Ms Contin
 Lortab
 Bextra
 Vitamin Supplement Liquid
 Diet Pepsi

This morning, I felt fine as far as the throat is concerned. Oddly enough, I wouldn't get the symptoms until 9:00 or so. This is shortly after I take my vitamins and drink a couple Diet Pepsis to wake up. (I know, this is not a good habit.) Anyway, I think I've eliminated the problem to one of those two. I hope... :)

 Thanks again,

 Steve
