If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

On my nsd/lsd ( I don't know what classifies what). I started monday, and by Wed. night was the first night in months I have not awakened with my extreme chest pain! Same thing last night! I am amazed! I was preparing myself for at least 2-3 weeks with no results. I am glad I am seeing them early though, because it sure is hard for this italian girl to stay away from the pasta!
I am hoping to get a refferral to a rheumy by the end of the month. Although, I am not really in a rush since I am doing more for myself than he could do for me anyway!
I am reading furiously through all the post, trying to make sense of it all! I am looking forward to that supplement sticky post you are working on, I am completely lost there!
Thank you all for the great info and support!

Oh, I hear you on the pasta!!! I take mung beans sprouts, rinse them, steam them in the microwave wrapped in paper towels, and then salt them and sprinkle really good extra virgin olive oil on them. Then I top them with safe tomato sauce or homemade pesto (with basil, garlic, e.v.o. oil and and almonds instead of pine nuts) and aged, hard grated romano (sheep milk) cheese. Oh, my. Wonderful once you get used to the texture being different.
You can also make baked "lasagne" with layers of cabbage instead of noodles, mushrooms, red peppers, cooked seasoned hamburger, same type of cheeses, tomatoes/sauce, and lots of olive oil again. Mmm. If you are in a hurry, you can even use pre shredded cole slaw mix cabbage that comes in a bag.
Tomatoes, basil, and ev olive oil....ah, bella! And olive oil is even very good for us.

Hey there Italian Girl, Very good to hear the positive results from the diet... isn't it amazing! Those were my thoughts 3 yrs ago when I jumped into the diet with both feet. Supplements I take: Calcium, Vit. E, C, B complex, Multi-vitamin Will take probiotics, fish oil and L-glutamine from time to time. Probiotics to keep Klebs in line, L-glutamine for GI repair... fish oil for inflamation. I love bean sprouts... I use them in place of rice for stir frys. In reply to:
I am doing more for myself than he could do for me anyway!
Great attitude.... if you are proactive with this disease you can help yourself out so much in my opinion. If you sit back and let it eat you up, it just may do that.
Take care,
Tim

Congratulations on making this diet work for you. It's so great that you had results so quickly. It makes the loss of our favorite foods worth it, doesn't it? Ann

Hi, About 15 or 16 years ago I had exactly the same experience. I was in so much pain I was willing to try anything. Although I have to admit I did not believe for one minute that the diet would work. After all I had been told that I had a progressive bone disease. Good luck with the diet, it is not easy but I suppose it gets easier and becomes a way of life, and sure as hell beats the pain, and the problems that come with AS. Good luck to you George

Congratulations Italian Girl. I had similar miraculous results when I started the diet 5 years ago. After the initial phase of miraculous improvement, I found that I could eventually eliminate all traces of the disease by understanding how I react to various foods. 5 years ago I walked with a stick - now I have no AS symptoms at all! Keep at it and please keep the board posted on your progress. Regards, Charlie
