My brother Dan "DanInDC" was in a very serious car accident on Tuesday Oct. 19, 2004 in New Mexico. He was originally not expected to survive through the night but did and is currently in a deep comma due to a severe head injury. It's now been 4 days and although he's shown no significant signs of improvement he is still alive has had positive responses to nervous system stimulus. His mom, dad and sister are with him at the hospital and I hope to see him ASAP. I'm sure his body is doing what it needs to heal and he'll wake up when he's ready. I'm not sure how many of you here know Dan. It seems as though he's provided a lot of input on this site. If you don't mind could you keep him in your thoughts and prayers? Dan is a great guy and I'm sure he'll come out of this but he certainly has a long road ahead of him. I will try to keep this post updated with his condition. Dan is in my prayers.
He has offered so much to others and is an insperation to all.
I work with individuals with head injuries and would be happy to direct Dan, you and your family to resources in your area. I know that it can be very difficult in times like this.

Please accept my condolences and pass them on to the rest of the family. I will remember Dan in my prayers and hope he pulls through this soon.

Very sad news indeed Rick. I hadn't heard very much re how Dan has been doing lately and really hope he will get through this. If you have any contact with his family Rick, please let them know of our concerns and support. Hoping for the best, George
