If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hello everybody,
I like to buy already cut meat (for on the slice of bread, normally) to eat with my lunchsalad. But here in the Netherlands there is almost in every package of sliced meat (ham, chickenfillet, pork) dextrose and/or lactose in the ingredients?
Can I eat this, or better leave it?
Maybe I will cooke/grill my own pure meat/chicken fo a while to accompany my salads.
Greetings Sandra

Hi, Dextrose is another name for glucose so that should be ok. Lactose is milk sugar. If you have no problems with milk it should be ok. But lactose is not as easily digested as some other simple sugars and for lactose intolerants even impossible. I would choose meat without lactose if possible (and if there is choice without dextrose too) as it should not be in there in the first place. Gerard

I've also purchased and eaten lunchmeats with these additives. They are in small enough quantities to not make any difference really.
If you want to be extra careful you can simply rince the meat, since the additives are in the "juices" and not the meat itself.

Lunch? For me dinner is no problem too but breakfast and lunch are interchangeable and give minor problems for variety reasons. I eat the following things. Omelette with all kinds of mixes of the following ingredients: courgette (zucchini) tomates, onion, spring onion, mushrooms feta cheese, paprika, garlic etc. I'm not worried about cholesterol on this diet so I use three eggs. Other option is tuna salad, or yogurt with walnuts (or fruit, say melon) and honey, or avocado salad (avocado tomate, mustard dressing). At work I eat from the salad counter. Another option is to make soup for dinner and leave a left over for the following day(s). One of my favorites is beet soup (Borsjt). The best to you, Gerard

Omelette I didn't make yet, that will be nice too indeed. Soup I did once, also nice. We have also a salad counter at work. But it is abnormally expensive too use every day, 1euro50cents for a really small amount. And often it does not seem very fresh. So I will do that if I really had no time to fix me lunch. Thanks for the tips again.
Bye Sandra

Hi Sandra,
I make a large salad typically Sunday evening to prepare for the work week. Then take a portion for lunch several days during work week (add olive oil and meat.... packaged salmon/tuna on the day I take it in).
I also make meals twice the normal size for leftovers to eat later (less cooking).
This diet becomes easier and easier with time.
Tim
