Hi,

Following the discovery that remicade was being made available on the Aussie Public Prescription Service, with the recommendation from an advisory committee only for B27 +ves I wondered if there are any of us who have fused and are B27 -ve.

I've read heaps on severity in negative disease I'd just like to consult the people who really know, the patients before I blast off a request for amendment!

David

Hi David,

I'm B-27 negative with no fusion. (Yet?)

Hello there Davo,

Nice to meet ya, I am negative and I have fusion. I was on Remicade here in the US but stopped because I became pregnant. It helped a BUNCH, made me almost forget about having AS.

Take care and have a good one,
JP

Hi David,
I am B27 - also and have fusing in my spine and sternum. Because I have major stiffness in other areas I am sure some fusing has happened, but not sure because no xrays have been done lately.

Hope this helps,
Lisa

HI Dave, I was going to add my 2 cents worth the other day but thought I’d wait until I got copies of my Rhumeys reports (from last two years )
Well I’m still not sure what to tell ya ! Her first letter to my GP dated September 24th, 2002 , states that I’m B27 negative but then in a letter to my GP dated October 25th, 2002 one month later, she states , and I quote " Martin has extensive and advanced HLA:B27 positive ankylosing spondylitis" !!! So maybe something showed up in the second blood test she had done? I don’t know. But whatever the case, I do have fusions. Hope this helps Take care

Keep on Kicking

Martin
