would have to be one of the hardest descisions any body will have to make, many times I have been that close to making the same descision my self, but then said na give it another day.
When I had a heart attack 3 years ago, even then I didnt even think about dying, just you bewdy at last I will get rid of this pain, but I am still here and still working.
Sounds bloody terrible, but life still goes on, and being so close to taking the big dip has changed a lot of the way that I look on life, and has made this insidious disease almost bearable to live with.
Hope this didnt make you feel worse than when you came on here.
cheers

Damon, I know how you feel, I’m 38 father of two girls 16 and 10, been married for 19 years and recently began what I’m calling stress leave from the job I love. I've had AS for years but didn't know it until Dec 2003. I’ve worked hard all my life; no one has ever given me anything. So to make this BIG change from a self proclaimed workaholic to staying at home hasn’t been easy. But my AS and other medical problems has left me with no choice. I have to do this. If I want to have any sort of a life in the future i have to start looking after myself.
You'll find the first few weeks hard, not going to lie to you and tell you that it's all great cause its not. But you know what’s been a great help to me? Its this place! And the people here.
Now, I don’t post as much as others but I’m here everyday. I've learned sooo much here; have gotten some great advice and a tremendous amount of support. So when you said you are alone! , Not true my friend, you have at your finger tips access to some of the most caring and understanding people you'll ever meet. I think I can safely say that KICKAS and the great folks here have giving me the tools and support that I needed over the last few months and with out them I really don’t know where I’d be today!
So while I don’t know any where near the stuff, nor have I gone through some of the things many have gone through here, I can how ever provide you with support, a friend, someone who understands what you’re going through.
So please remember you’re not alone in this, though we may not be just around the corner or even in the same countries, we are here!
I wish you all the best,

Keep on Kicking

Martin

Hi Damon,
Your post made me feel sad. I am thinking of you! I wonder if you can employ someone else to help you with your company. Still have a hand in it and keep your career and interest going??? Are you getting any good help with your AS from the medical profession?? Maybe you just need to have a rest and recoup for a while. Sorry I cant help you more, keep posting here for support, there are nice people here who can help.
Take Care,
Debra.

Hi!

Had to fold everything a few years ago not an easy thing to do, but battling everyday without the extra worries of not meeting commitments I can no longer meet!

Glad to hear that you remain to keep your faith my friend. Keep your chin up and maintain a stiff upper lip and when the ships get clos enough take out the cutlasses and board the bar stewards.

We all go through those tough times at some stage. Especially those of us that have our own business and pour our lifes blood into our own businesses or projects and hate to see it sold or fail because we feel it is a failure on our part.

Go for it buddy, don't let the bar stewards grind you down!
