Just thought I'd do a bit of an update on my daughter's current gym status and achievements. Over the past few weeks she's competed in the first 2 State trial competitions and has done well… 4th overall in the 1st trial and 3rd overall in the 2nd trial. She qualified with enough points in the first trial to make it into the State final again this year but also made enough points to go to the National competition in May this year…  Fingers crossed for maybe a National Champion this year…  She'll compete in the State final on Saturday 3rd April… but that will be Friday 2nd April evening for most of you… ( confused…? LOL ) Now the big news is that the head gymnastics coach from the AIS (Australian Institute of Sport) has been lurking around these competitions and has been keeping a close eye on her for a while now… the other day we received a letter from the AIS asking for her to come train at the Institute… We've been asked to go there for a weeks training and assessment from the 5th April til 9th April… they'll assess her further during this time and then maybe offer her a full-time position there… this is a huge step and honour and of course probably the next stepping stone towards making the Australian team…. Forget it! Start bragging NOW!!!!!!!! These achievements are most definately something to brag about!!!!! What a wonderful opportunity for your daughter!!!  Of course, this news doesn't come as much of a shock to most of us who have been following your daughters progress over the years......... it's a well deserved honour, and no matter the outcome, to even be considered is something to be immensely proud of......... Now..... if you don't want to suffer the brunt of an offensive pm... you had better let us know the results of the State final asap (like as soon as you get home ... and the outcome of the assessment on the 9th April.... OK.. I'll give you until the 11th to post.... them I'm going to be firing pm's at you!!!!!! Do please pass on my congratulations to your daughter, and let her know that I am real proud of her. (I'm sure that the Scottish blood line is helping some... the Scots are fiercely competitive by nature!) Love to the family.... what a super Dad you are!!!! Aussie...Aussie....Aussie...Oi.....Oi...Oi Congratulations Yay..That is wonderful news she must be so excited with the news that she could make it into the A.I.S. All that hard work is paying off!!! I wish her all the luck for the next few weeks until she finds out what is set to become an exciting journey and sensational opprortunity.
