Hi, it is very nice to see this post when I log in after several months. I registed here several months ago and seldom coming since quite busy.

I am the AS coming from China. What you talk at this post, on the accupucture, cupping, smoking, massage ect, these are all from China traditional medicine, also inlude the herbs.

I have got AS since my 13 years old and now I am nearly 28. I would like to share my some experience on these traditional treatment you are interested.

The acupuncture needs lot of real experence for the acupunctitist. The needle is same, and the position to accupunc is also same, but if you have experienced or new hand acupunctist, there is have total different effects. The acupuncture is very old treatment way with over 2000 years history, it is still very popular in China and it can cure many disseases. I have tried some of acupunctitists in China, but frankly speaking, the acupuncture is helpful to release the pain and muscle rigidity, but it is very hard to cure AS since AS is immunity disease. When doing acupuncture, you can not feel pained if your acupunctist is very skillful, you can feel hot, intumescent etc. I have been acupuncted by one of the best acupunctitist in China, an old man of 85 years old, I feel like a hot stick into my body instead of the needle.

Also, acupuncture is not pain killer, maybe you need to try some long time treatment and get some effects. While, in China, the China medicine doctory's main way to treat AS is the herbs, the doctory will precribe and mix the different herbs based on your condition and you get the herbs to boil and drink the herb soup.

For the smoking and cuping, it is a complementory way to increase the effect of acupuncture.

For the massage, it will be helpful too, but you need to get a good physician.

The Chinese perspective is always interesting, especially of course on a subject rooted in Chinese traditional medicine!
