Hi Again,
I have some good news..My dad is out of surgery and everything went smoothly.
They are going to keep him sleeping until tomorrow. I am soooo relieved!
My mom is home (other family members that went down there are staying with her) and hopefully she can get some good rest tonight.
The reason why she couldn't call me when she said is because she couldn't call out from the hospital phones and tried a few times to call some of us collect, but it wouldn't allow her to so she was waiting for someone to show up with a cell. When my family got there with their cell they had a hard time finding a spot in the hospital where it would come in, but they finally managed.
Also, although the surgery was scheduled for 1:00, he didn't go in until a litte after 2:00. Docs had planned on it taking alot longer than it did and were surprised themselves that it went as quickly as it did. Maybe they wouldn't have been so surprised if they knew how many people were praying for him
Thanks so much for all your prayers. Your prayers haven't failed me yet and I have faith they never will.
Now for the other news... I just found out, which is something alot of us expected anyway, that my son is headed to Baghdad
Yes, we knew it was bound to come sooner or later, but I always had the hopes that everything would be finished and peaceful over there before his time came. At one point not too long ago they gave him an approximate date that he would be leaving and then for some reason didn't send him, but this time he has his orders in hand.
They will not send him home before he's deployed so I need to find a way to get to him before he leaves. I can't NOT go!! All the positive thinking in the world won't even allow me to take that chance.
So, more prayers please that somehow I'll get to see him and that he will stay safe while over there. Again, I will try really hard to focus on the positive, and not worry too much, but you just may find me some days asking for a little help with that.
I have faith in him and know he is good at what he does, but as a mom I still can't help but worry about him everyday considering his chosen field...a cop. Which reminds me...he made cop of the month this past month I am proud of him, but watching what's been going on over there and knowing that's where he is will be even scarier. Guess I'll just have to have more faith than ever huh?
Thanks again for everything.

Hugs,
Lisa

Great news about your Dad. I know how relieved you would feel as my Mum had bypass surgery 9 years ago and am glad to say is still going strong.

My prayers are with you and your son. With your faith combined with everybodys here I'm sure he'll be back before you know it.

Glad to hear the good news. I hope he continues to do well. My prayers are still with your family anyway. And may angels surround your son.

Hugs,

Cindy

Thanks Trinka,
Sorry I haven't emailed or PMed you lately. Like I mentioned, I have been around, but just haven't been posting or writing much.
It seems like my life is always full of crazy and challenging situations. Guess it's just the way my life was meant to me. Everyday makes me a stronger person though and I actually wake up every morning anxious to see how I will deal with the challenges of the day...whether is be dealing with old stuff or new things that come along.
I am anxious to tell you about the situation with Eric's ex and how I decided to handle that. Let's just say...The wheel that squeaks the loudest does get the oil and I am starting to feel a little greasy HA HA
My laptop was just sold today so I have to use the desktop for about a week until the other comes in and it's tough sitting in this chair for long periods, but as soon as I get my other laptop back I'll email or PM you ok.
Hope everything has been going good with you.
Hugs,
Lisa

Thanks Gwyn,
Glad to har that your mom is still going strong. Having so many others tell me about their faimily members and how well they did and are doing gave me a lot of encouragement.
I heard from my mom a little while ago and she said my dad left a message on my answering machin this morning, but I never got it so he must have left it on someone elses machine LOL.
My mom said when she saw him this morning such a big weight was lifted from her, because she said he looked better than he has in years. She was so amazed at how well he looked. He was excited because his feet weren't cold anymore. Guess that's been a big complaint of his lately.
It's looking like this is going to benefit him in many ways.
Thanks again for your support and encouragement
Hugs,
Lisa

Thanks Valerie,
My dad is doing awesome from what my mom said and I am relieved.
Just wish I could have been there to hold his hand and hers, but everything turned out fine.
Yes, I am hoping I can find a way to get to CO. Been checking flight prices and they are so darn expensive. I keep hearing about all these sales happening on airline tickets, but I've yet to find one that I can afford. They don't offer many tickets for $50. HA HA
My daughter and her husband are going to try to go see him too. She is thinking the same as me...can't not go. It would be so much easier for him to fly back here for a few days and see everyone before he leaves than for everyone to go there, but they won't let him come home. We'll see what happens.
Anyway, thanks again for you support and prayers
Hugs,
Lisa

Glad to hear things are going so good for your Dad. I know you must be feeling
much better now. I am sure you have been able to hear his voice by now, and that
will make you feel even better. Great your Mom thought he looked so good.
Take care of yourself. And God Bless!
