Just wondering fi anyone ever heard about the connection between nsaids and lymphoma. I read several studies that read "Over a seven-year follow-up period, study participants who took aspirin exclusively were found to be 71 percent more likely to develop non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and those who used non-aspirin NSAIDs 139 percent more likely, than who did not use NSAIDs." I am only 28 and as a health care worker have seen several patients with this disease, which makes me nervous about taking bextra. The sad thing is I finally found something that helps me. Any suggestions? Thank You

Hi Shari,

I have not heard that myself. I am also taking Bextra. The only thing I could suggest to you is to try and get the inflammation down with natural NSAID's such as high doses of salmon oil, flax oil, MSM or whatever works for you. Even though I take Bextra I still experience regular pain and when I try to take less than the 20 mg daily the pain increases. It seems as if we are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Good luck and let me know if you come up with any alternatives that work for you. BTW- Where did you read these studies?

There is no drug stronger than a good attitude.

I first saw it in REDBOOK magazine and then found more info on yahoo search. The study was conducted by Department of Health Sciences Research, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN 55905, USA
