Had my second shot of Enbrel today, that needle scares the pants off of me though, don't know how I am going to be able to do it myself.
I went out with my friends to the pub tonight, it was so hard not to have a drink, I had a few teas and a big glass of tonic water. Oddly I feel really great knowing that I made it through, kind of empowering somehow. Someday I'll have a drink again , I just want to clean up my act and start living again and avoid drowning this time.
I know I have said this before but reading all the posts in these forums helps alot, i have learned so much this past week. Whoever the webmaster is they are doing an awesome job on this forum. Cheers!

Well done Jacob,

I gave up drinking several years ago now. My liver was getting worse due to meds I was on and decided either my health or beer had to go. I very rarely have a drink now.... maybe 1-2 a year. I did miss it quite a bit at first, but with time I have become used to it.

Well wishes to your future,

Tim

Jake
The enbrel shots get easier after the first month or so... Til then gather your courage and make the plunge... If you have as good a response as I have had you will quickly get over the shot fear... Amazing what feeling good can do for your fear... Give me a pm if you have any questions about the enbrel...

Hey there, Jake! Just wanted to say I'm proud of you for doing what you need to do right now. It's not always easy to make the changes we need to make with AS, and some of those changes are harder than others. Well done!

Hugs,

Kat

wow!
I gave my first enbrel injection today. The nurse came here and made sure I didn't blow myself
up. I was kind of nervous but then all of a sudden I noticed I had put the needle in and it didn't even hurt.
Starting to feel some relief these days, I am starting to shake my cold so this week I hope to get outside more.
Have a great week everyone.!

Hey Jacob

Good for you with the Enbrel.

I remember the first shot I gave Eric....I almost passed out. My stomach rolled, I broke out in a sweat.....awful.

After a while it was a piece of cake, I told him to sit down, prep his leg, and bingo....done before you know it.

I hope that the Enbrel brings you as much relief as it did Eric. It put him in remission twice now. He has been off all meds for AS since June. He is still doing great!

Hi Jacob,

You just showed yourself the strength you have to try and fight this. What a great accomplishment! My hope for you is that this will help greatly ease the pains you have from this disease, and give you the frame of mind to continue fighting. Sorry to hear about your cold, I am suffering from bronchitis as we speak. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
