The best chocolate I have ever tasted came from NZ. The best scenery pics come from there too!!!

Oh........ there is another Kiwi amongst us here at kick AS and I'm sure his name is Shane. He posts quite often so you could give him a shout if you want to meet with other Kiwis.

Hi guy, nice to hear that there are a few more "down under" people who can relate to previous experiences. Yes, Dunedin is south but it is not too bad - yes we get snow and frosts but we also have four seasons in one day which is unpredictable so you never quite know what you're going to get!!!!! So saying that, it can be rather unpleasant if you suffer from AS at times, but the scenery and the friendly people more than make up for it.

Nice to hear that some rheumys are the same the world over and their treatment of AS patients hasn't got any better (not!). I guess we just have to live in hope.

Thanks for your comments. It is interesting to see what people out there are doing to help themselves in a more "natural" way and not necessarily drug-related.
Cheers
Julie

Hi Julie

Dunedin : Is it a prerequisite that you be of Scottish decent to live there ? .
par take of the haggus and have a wee dram of Drambue .

Stuff wearing a kilt , you could freeze parts of you body that far south .
I"ve seen Brave heart and seen what they wear under them kilts , nothing ! .

Do you still have the sharks nets at the beaches ? , stops the surfers from getting love bites .

Haven't been south for quite a few years , got some cousins dairy farming down Invercargill .

I have always wanted to down go to " Warbirds over Wanaka " and also kayak around the Abel Tasman .

Have you been up North ? .

Of course it is a prerequisite to be scottish to live in Dunedin - och aye! However, having been born on the wrong side of Hadrian's wall in England I reckon I'm close enough to being scottish! Haven't seen too many males wearing kilts here, although there is a Brass Monkey motorcycle rally held once a year if you're talking about freezing your nether parts! And I can assure you that there is a lot of imbibing spirits to keep the cold away!

Shark nets are still in place around the beaches. And yes, I have been up north, all my husband's family live in the central North Island - in fact have just come back from there last monday from a family celebration.

Whereabouts are you hailing from?

A cheerful och aye the noo from warm and sunny Dunedin!

Hi Julie

Your husband's rallies from central Nth Island , can't be to far away from Taupo ? .

Originally from the Waikato near Hamilton , shifted to Tauraunga 7 months ago and really enjoying a more moderate climate .

Really looking forward to summer , lots of fishing , kayaking and bar-be-ques .

Regards

Calixto

Hubby hails from Kawerau - only an hour from Tauranga and an hour and a bit from Taupo. Can't wait for summer either!
Cheers
Julie
