If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

1d) I hardly use NSAID's at all. Perhaps 2 times a month, using 1/4 of a dose - usually resorting to them after eating a "bad" meal (eg: one containing wheat) and as an "enabler" for exercise. wind_riders comments summed everything up perfectly..
I am 25 right now, and have knocked the disease way back to where it stood in its very early stages.. Even when I was 19 I doubt I could manage without NSAID's
2c) almost no dairy. I still eat butter, and a little cheese is ok. Yoghurt seems fine.
2e) a grain free diet. But allowing some rice is fine (too much rice might be a problem?). One meal with wheat equals 2 to 3 days of pain and misery. I also avoid nuts, beans and alcohol (some reactions in the past, not conclusive yet)
my diet revolves around: eggs and bacon, meat, fruit, veg (especially cruciferous veg).. Lately it seems the more I eat veg soups or raw fruit/veg juices - the less pain I am in.
No TV : ok, so thats more of a life philosophy then a diet (?) , but I sincerely believe that the more TV I watch, the more pain I am in. Worse still, the more tv I watch the more depressed and apathetic I get . Well its probably more to do with sitting in one position for too long without movement

1d, 2a. Within a few weeks of limiting starch I started to improve dramatically. That was four years ago and I am now just about cured. Charlie

Hey, Mo:
1-d 2-e; let me explain that I CHEAT by using antibiotics often, and do fasting and apple regimen, too.
I have also had chelation with some success after 7 treatments, but nothing compares to apple diet, fasting and antibiotics. I was still improving after one year almost total NSD.
When I did this breakdown before, I found that over 60% of people responded well to NSD/LSD; many had left the forum, however.
Over 90% of Ebringer's patients showed decreased sed rates after 9 months on his LSD, but if sed rate does not decrease enough, the subject will not agree that diet is helping, so it is rather subjective, overall.
Good luck to You, John

Hi Mo, I'm one of the lucky ones, 1d and 2a. My life has changed dramatically. I'm by nature an internal locus of control type of gal so when I regained control of the AS situation I was a happy woman despite the dietary changes that were necessary. Oddly, once I gave up my cereal and breads and other baked goodies, I gained 10#. I truly don't think this is a reflection of an increased caloric intake, but, rather, a decrease in inflammation and lowered basal metabolic rate. LindaG

P.S. I do take a celebrex 200mg 2x/week (plus numerous supplements) to remain free of pain and uveitis. LindaG

I've had some success with diet change. My change was gluten free at first,, now low starch, but seems the gluten/wheat items are MUCH worse for me than other starches. Darla

me again.. just wanted to be a bit more specific about a food reaction I have..
I react to foods containing powdered milk. And quite a few processed foods contain this: millk chocolate, instant hot chocolate, protein powders, margarine. HOWEVER butter appears to be fine.

Hi, I'm a 1d, 2a, 2e. I've only been trying it since July, but have only used NSAID's twice since then--and that was for hurting my shoulder throwing water balloons.
I believe NO STARCH (and yes, it is everywhere!) works in general, but there is more to it than just simply that. And we're all different. I have a lot of food allergies and was already limited in what I could eat--no beans or dairy or chicken or tomatoes for example. Only peanuts and soy can kill me, so I've added some dairy back into my diet, and experiment with the levels of allergic reactions. It seems that if I am reacting--to whatever--I react more to anything/everything. If my immune system is mellow, I react less to borderline allergic foods. Makes sense.
Lately, I'm starting to think it may be !YES GREENS! that works best. I have had pain when I ate no starch but also ate no greens. I didn't read any books and didn't know how at first to do the NSD, so I dumbly just started substituting the common meal fillers, pasta, rice, potatoes or bread for GREENS! That's my NSD. I feel like a lettuce addict!! I like asian greens a lot too! Haven't found anything green to put butter and jam on yet. . .

Hi Mo, I believe I was the first to post here ref Ebringers work with LSD. I have been on the diet now for about 12 years. I am now low starch or very low starch. When I first started the diet I tried hard to eliminate all starch as I was in such pain, with an ESR of 98. I currently take no Meds and have an ESR of 9 and play golf regularly (bear in mind I could hardly walk. I believe that the Doctors who simply will not hear of the reduction in starch for patients are doing a great disservice to the patients and their profession. Good luck George
