If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi! This may sound stupid but I am wondering if women get bent over like the men I have heard about. I just started thinking I dont remember hearing any women hear say that theirs are bent. Just curious I hope I dont sound too dumb here. Thanks>>>Connie

I think they can bend in the kyphotic manner. I have never seen such a person. I do know a pair of ladies with AS who are fused but are 'ramrod' straight. I was curved like a classic Gothic capital C.....an interesting idea......I've never thought of myself as a member of the alphabet.........!! I was a Capital I became a capital C and am new a lower case r........Mmmmmmmmm

Hi Connie, And yes, women do get bent like a C. Here in Turkey, we have a theater actrist who has AS and she's in her 70s now. Poor old lady is bent over for almost 10 years.. I hope none of us become a C :) Meric

Hi Connie,
Unfortunately we can, I don't know how common it is statistically. I have a "C" spine. Thankfully my neck has compensated and I can still look forward.

Hi Connie, I have curved quite a bit already, but I am doing everything possible to stop myself from turning into a C. Since it takes woman more time to fuse, I'm sure alot of them use the time to work on their spines so they fuse as straight as possible. This is probably the reason why you don't hear about or see as many woman bent as badly men, although I am sure there are woman out there bent just as bad. Hugs, Lisa

I try very hard to keep myself straight. Hopefully I'll fuse that way, but I am listing to one side a bit. Just enough that my clothes have to be altered to keep me from looking lopsided. Hugs, Cindy I am only one; but still I am one. I cannot do everything. But still I can do something; I will not refuse to do the something I can do. Helen Keller

My spine and pelvis is completely fused and I do lean forward, not severe but enough that I lost 2" in height. My rheumy theorizes that because I fused so young(between ages 21-23) that I had the muscle strength which helped me stay fairly straight. That is only her theory so don't quote me. Simone
