If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Sue, I think after I've had a baby I will go starch-free and see what happens, but right now I will have to modify the LSD to suit. Thanks for your thoughts. Elaine

Hey guys, i'll never be pregnant so i don't need to by my own guinea pig, but this is a STARCH-free diet, it has never been a carbohydrate-free diet. Considering the urges to eat will not let the child starve, lactose and maltose are probably as carb complex as required - if there is ample supply.... Pregnancy could easily be starch free, but full of fruit and honey and even rice, but still avoiding the wheat, other grains and potato. There will always be a need for protein for the bub, but it will be available if the mother eats some carbos (for herself) and i would read up on amino acid supplementation.... It'd be interesting to see how some indiginous women approach any change in nutrition. I'd expect it to favour inulin and root crops. You are right Ted. And this is something I am going to have to look into. If I am feeling really good starch free or nearly starch free, I would hate to lose that if I don't have to. (I think I used the term carbohydrates by mistake earlier - I meant starch)
Thanks for the input. Elaine

Elaine, Janet (buckwheat) was on the LSD while pregnant, so try e-mailing her for advice, she had a sympathetic and co-operative GP I believe. But since having her hands full she rarely comes on the forum. You could also try searching through her old posts.

Elaine, I must admit that I did not have that problem, but I more or less eliminated all strch. Which for me meant a diet of bacon and egg for about five days. On day 3 I was feeling much better. If yoy are hving some residual pain then Sulphasalazine EN is pretty good. Try checking your food with iodine to make sure your not getting the hidden starches, also have your doc monitor your ESR so you can moitor your progress. I have been on the diet probably the longest here my ESR was 99 when I first met Ebringer, it steadily went down to a very managable level of 21, Last week I had a medical and my ESR came back at 9. Good luck with the diet . George

Thanks George for your support. I can't take sulphasalazine as I am allergic to sulpha based drugs but thanks for the suggestion. I am actually feeling a lot better yesterday and today so things seem to be on the up at the moment! I went to the movies yesterday and forgot to take my munchy supply. It was very sad that I had to sit through the movie with just a bottle of water while my husband munched away on crisps and popcorn. Oh well, I think I'll cope. Went out for dinner straight afterwards and had a wonderful piece of steak, so that made up for it! Elaine
