Why so touchy? Because this was such a bitter sweet time in my life, pictures of how I spent the first anniversary of my much loved husband's death. To have someone post something to suggest I somehow "faked" it was beyond hurtful. If she had any concerns, why not a PM? As far as I'm concerned this was mean spirited, spiteful, and not in keeping with what KA is all about. Rick died a year ago and I received wonderful support. But some people here don't seem to know the definition any more. I "mistakenly" posted pictures from over a year ago? Well, two explanations if that were to be true, I have either lost my mind or was making up the whole trip, ie, lying. I stand by my words, this was a terrible thing to do to another KA member. And I suspect, absent any other explanation, that I have been deliberately and cruely sabotaged. Notice that Patty did not suggest that there had been a computer glitch, only that I had "somehow" posted old pictures.

It's simple case of having two pics with the same filename. In Cheryl's old posts her profile called upon a thumbnail from upload directory, whereas these days her profile calls upon the same image but as a thumbnail from the gallery directory. Old posts always remember the directory and filename to call the thumbnail from upon, that cannot ever be changed, which is why we sometimes see red X's for thumbnails in old posts. The filename has been overwritten by the upload of the new pictures, so her old posts will call upon that new image for the thumbnail. It has not been resized to fit, it just gets squeezed in there, as you can tell by the ratio distortion.

No one has messed with Cheryl's profile or pictures. Admins can change the filenames to match the profile of the time to rectify the situation.

Michelle, I never suggested that those pictuers were 'old' or 'fakes' or anything! Quite the contrary! I actually thought I found the reason to why the new pic overwrited the old one from january last year. They had the same name (Cheryl.jpg) and I merely suggested that it would be better to change the file name. Loz confirmes that in his post.

Cheryl - I am really sorry if this was upsetting for you But (for the record) I don't think Patty's post made you sound stupid or crazy or anything. I understood at once that this must had been a computer error. It is really easy to mistake someone else's intentions when we can't hear or see eachother on these message boards.

Thanks for explaining that so well, Loz. (I was wondering why my "old" photos were appearing as little red Xs!!)

We all know those photos Cheryl has posted are new ones - we've been looking forward to them since she first moved to Florida, but she wanted to wait until her new home was completed before she sent them in.

I have now altered the filenames on the server to render the true pics.

Concerned? It seemed like your first senior moment -- I’d thought you’d chuckle and attach the right picture, realizing you’d clicked on some old ones. (I once posted a picture of my cat as myself!)

Public humiliation? What on earth is humiliating? Again, to me it seemed that you’d attached the wrong pictures. Someone had to point it out.

I “wiped out” my info so I wouldn’t get one more snotty comment saying “take your bone marrow failure elsewhere,” or “quit wallowing in self-pity.” And lots of other people only post every few weeks or months, so if there’s a rule about that, please post it.

I don’t think that’s possible . . . and if it is, well, I won’t elaborate.

Patty doesn’t put words into someone else's mouth, nor does she get put up to things by others (whom would this be, anyway?). As I said, I’m in bed, reading on my laptop, looking at old recipes, and saw this.

Where are you GETTING this from? As my mother used to say, “Thou protesteth too much.” Why would you get the idea that anyone thought this was faked, etc? Where did that come from? Interesting that that’s the first thing you thought of. And if I DID think you faked this for some odd reason, that would indicate you have some serious problems, and I certainly wouldn’t make a public mockery of you in such a time. I’ve learned what that’s like right here at KA.

You’re right -- many people don’t know the definition of support. This isn’t really a support group. It’s more of a popularity contest, very high school. To give an example of what I’m referring to (and I know when people recognize themselves they’ll delete this, since they have the “power” as they are ALL administrators or moderators -- yes, even the first one I’m listing):

1 - A certain male PMed me one night and made reference to a crude joke that had been going around the Men’s Forum about a certain woman AS Kicker -- a very crude thing to say about her personal problems.

2 - I was scolded when I made a joke a few weeks back, and Loz said “No more bashing doctors.” Where are Loz and Strutsy when you need them? Rox was griping the other day that doctors are so lazy they can’t even write 3 initials on a scrap of paper! (Rox -- we’re supposed to go along with the moderators -- they rule! Be a good girl)

3 - Pete just told us that if someone doesn’t want to try NSD then leave them alone -- but I remember a recent post (I really do read every day, Cheryl) where Pete was on the guy's case over how he couldn’t give up his spuds, but he’d live in pain.

So it’s all about who you are here, not what you have to say! Cheryl’s reply was just one more example of this. Doesn’t matter -- this is too weird to waste my time or energy on. This is my last post. No need for anyone to reply -- I certainly won’t log on and read.
